I don't think people realize how good he is.

His closest comp on our current team, ironically, seems to be Kaapo Kakko. With better defense and offense, but obviously not the upside.

Im game for a Kravtsov for Lehkonen swap, but they still need to add a top 6 forward at some point this season, especially with Kakko out for an extended period. I assume Drury waits until deadline day to see who shakes lose from the teams who decide to sell.

Yes, it does. Henrik lost a lot of playoff series that weren't his fault at all, because he had to do everything himself, just like Igor does with this team. He never had the right team in front of him (An argument for another day). This Rangers team is not as good as the Hurricanes, goaltending or no. They don't appear to be as good as the Penguins either. Sorry, but that's the hard truth, supported by the underlying numbers. I don't know how you think a 2 shot period is gonna go over against the Hurricanes but I can assure the answer is not well.

I feel this is a bit short-sighted though. The team has a clear need right now, and moving forward, on the 3rd line (or another way to put this is they really could use more depth and a swiss-army knife player). They have the ability to add one, who can be around for a while due to being a RFA, that won't cost a ton to acquire (or at least shouldn't) and won't break the bank on his contract. His age fits with this group as well.

The team also has a clear need at center. Which is more important - 2C or 3rd line winger?

We've played a lot of games this season and so have these other teams, it's not at all a stretch to say what teams are at this point. This Rangers team is in no way different at this point than when they started in October. The Canes have been dominant throughout.

What I said was elite goaltending is not enough BY ITSELF to carry you to a championship and we saw that for 15 years in this organization already. and in hand you are saying that team play is enough without elite goaltending by trying to claim i am proving your point somehow by saying neimi won a cup.

you have also consistently discounted the nyr success this year as more or less a by product of the goaltending.

in a cap world there is no perfect team, the bolts of last year might be the closest thing, everyone is going to have deficiencies in some manner. if you dont believe elite goaltending is important than lets trade igor to fill the other parts that you think are more important...
