I’d love Hagel. I don’t think Chiarot is as bad as people are making him out to be. Would I deal a 1st for him? Hell no.
but if they want him as Schneider’s partner for a 2nd, I’m not loosing my shit.
Habs fans speak very highly of chiarot. And he’s cheap.
Lehkonen should still be a target for us as well.
I like Hagel a ton. He plays exactly how we want and is also young and cheap.
I’d absolutely love to get him or Dach. How that happens, I have no clue.
Hopefully Jones-Schneider shows solid/capable chemistry. Then they just find a cheap vet for insurance/injuries

Miller is an absolute beast out there. Maybe guys don’t watch him enough but he’s a beast. Does it all. Has it all.

still a prick though lol

reminder rangers have almost 4 mil buyout money that comes off the cap after next season too

Didn't the Rangers just add buyout money because they had to buy out a dumbo disrupting the locker room? One of the reasons Miller is on the block is the Nucks need to fix chemistry. Time to add another 'prick' then I guess.

it is hilarious reading these comments about the nyr version of miller and not the van version. he is a noticeably different player now. i get that people dislike him from his previous time here but he is an evolved version of what was here in the past...

Everyone knows he is a good player, I don't see anyone arguing against that. Now is he worth the cost and is he a good fit on this team? Does he solve any actual problems for this team apart from adding a bit of a short term "sugar high"? That is debatable.

If I’m trading my first, that’s JT Miller territory. I’m not sure what a deal for Kirby Dach would look like but it wouldn’t be cheap.

Go big or go home,
I'd start with Chytil, Kravtsov, 1st and go from there. Lundkvist, Cuylle, Jones, and Strome also available.

We are NY Rangers. Majority of them high end free agents or players in the future could be had. Use the assets right. Long term construction makes champions. Tampa is perfect example, patience.
This is right. Trading Gomez for McDonagh was important not just because we got McD. We also got like 7 mil + in cap space to buy Gaborik in free agency. we went to the conference finals with Gabby and eventually traded him for Brassard, Moore, and Dorsett. We got to the Stanley Cup with those guys and traded Brass for Zibanejad. Keep the Cap Space flexible, buy low and sell high.

You have one place on this roster in the top 6 to make an affectable change long term and that is 2c bc you assume kakko and laf are there with zib kreider and panarin.

All gone after next season

Why does a team that has those players still rely on their goaltender to win everything like the Henrik teams did? If these players were that good Igor should have to play out of his mind every game in order for them to win.
I would argue those players aren't the problem, it's the lack of depth all around them. Ryan reaves was playing on the top line not long ago.

Those old henke teams had depth without high end players. Right now we have high end players without depth and it is easier to fix

They just had a 2 shot on goal period, and that's not an abberation for this team. It's gonna take a lot more than just depth to fix this problem.

Uncle Larry dropping names into public domain again. Dach? Why would the Hawks consider moving him? Then again if Chiarelli is running the show there, pounce.

Respectfully, the person you are responding to is one of the people I wrote an enquiry about the group think value of a Miller.

But, Miller is 21st in league scoring, a C/W, Pettersson is having a down year but is still far outproducing Laf, Hughes is a near ppg defenceman becoming defensively responsible.

With Laf not even producing at a .3 ppg clip thus far in his career from any perspective that's ridiculous
My comment was tongue in cheek, don’t know how that was missed

I think Dach could be a good player... but isn't he another Panarin, where the needle is waaaaaaaay too far to the 'look to pass' area

I'd like an 'Attack' player. JTM in that sense fits the mold I guess.

Kirby Dach or JT Miller?

This shouldnt even be a question

Give me Kirby all day every day. Thats the center of the now and future for us. You empty the cupboard for him.

But shouldn't they be well rested? And practiced?

Let's not pretend that a 2 shot on goal period isn't something that has happened often to this team.
Yeah, and it's amazing that with a few of those this past season that they still managed to be as good as they are.

Do they have more 2 shot periods or losses this season? If anyone had that stat handy I figured you would.

They can usually get away with the 2 shot periods when they play the dregs of this team but against the playoff teams where they have a losing record, the results are a bit different.

How you think those types of periods are going to play out against Pittsburgh or Carolina in the playoffs? I'm gonna say bad but I know you'll somehow think good.

Seems to show they just need to make some improvements. Also I wasn't aware that they now have a losing record against playoff teams, last time we discussed this they were on the plus side but I can't keep up with it at this point.

Miller isn't really a shot-first type either, he's more of a distributor. Which the Rangers could still use, they desperately need more skill.
