Throw in a 2021 3rd that becomes your 2021 2nd if you reach the WCF this year and you have a deal.

Taking a page from the Leafs fan forum. The 1st was a 2021 according to Richard Banger. I don't see Gorton accepting that. There will absolutely be a 2020 1st on the table. And the prospect that was added isn't worth anything. Colorado drafted him in the 5th round and then ended up signing him to an AHL deal. He has played 45 games in the ECHL and has 17 points.
That entire "offer" looked like something a Colorado fan put together.
Take Hank too please and go win the cup.Let’s get a deal done tomorrow, friends.
Kreider to Colorado. Come on.
My instinct is we could get more. Assuming there really is a bidding war there should be better prospects/picks available. No!

I’d rather get one bluechip prospect or young roster player than a bust & a pick that’s years away from playing in the NHL.
Wait, wait, wait. It's a work in process. I can make it better! This was pretty boring, I don't think there's a screenplay here.
This sounds about right. Six years being the stretch for JG. $7m being the AAV CK requires. I would guess someone ponies up $7.5x6 in free agency. Maybe even another year.Regarding the Kreider negotiation, it's really not all that hard to infer how it all went down:
Keator came in saying, "I need $8MM x 7 or $7MM x 8." Something along those lines.
Gorts said, "well, I can go $7MM or even a little more, but not on anything longer than 5 years."
Small moves back and forth to final positions.
Keator: "okay, we can do $7MM x 7."
Gorts: "I can go another year to 6, but then we need to bring the price down to a $6.5MM AAV."
They've both given a fair amount, but a sizable gap remains. If the deal's going to get done, someone will need to make a second big shift, and I may be wrong on this, but I don't think it happens, because they're both already in uncomfortable territory.

I'll take the bust, thanks.I’d rather get one bluechip prospect or young roster player than a bust & a pick that’s years away from playing in the NHL.
I don’t mean a franchise level talent but we can do better than someone who’s 22 & bordering on bust status. A prospect in the vain of a Wahlstrom, Podkolzin, etcAh yes. One of those really common bluechip prospect for rental trades.

So Gorts overplayed his hand again then???
I'm sure that will be the story thrown around. I think the real story is some of the prices being bandied around were so ridiculous that there was bound to be widespread disappointment. So Gorts overplayed his hand again then???
He's always reminded me of Max Afinogenov. Lots of speed and might have a few high scoring years, but he's going to be a mess to coach and keep in your organization.

Even in a one for one swap? What about Kreider w/ extension? It's just not going to happen. Those kinds of prospects do not get traded for rentals.
So, we just aren't going to even see what happens now before complaining?
