Domi is a overhyped midget. There I said it. Montreal trying to make a run for playoffs and the guy has 3 points in like 15 games. No thanks.

Yeah, but for Skjei, that seems like a good deal for us. Decent, young second line center, for a defenseman we really have no room for?

I'm not so sure Strome has the kind of value that someone like Buchnevich does. Buch bests Strome in age, contract, and doesn't look like a guy who is getting inflated numbers via an elite line mate. The Rangers might also be hesitant to break up the chemistry that Strome and Panarin have.

Skjei and Trocheck makes some sense on paper, but I do worry about Trocheck's pace. He seems to have slowed down a bit since his injury.

I think I'd be more inclined to go elsewhere in lieu of Trochek. Just because of his short contract duration

Hank had plenty of opportunities to ask to be traded in the past 2 years. The team even offered to move him, he said no, he wants to stick out the rebuild.

Now he's the 3rd goalie on the team. The team has done everything right by him, and gave him plenty of opportunity to go elsewhere. If he ends up being bought out/retiring, well, these things happen when you get passed up on the depth chart.

The argument is the appropriate recognition for being one of the best Rangers of all time. I have no issue with a buyout/retirement, but acting like it's creepy to celebrate his legacy is nonsense.

The other solution, of course, is to trial DeAngelo on the left side so he or Fox aren't pigeonholed into a bottom pairing role at ES.

He, Fox, and Trouba should all be getting top 4 minutes.

DeAngelo-Trouba
Lindgren-Fox
Staal-Smith? Lundkvist? Bueller?

I think I want to try one of our RHD on the left side eventually anyway.

I just don't see a team paying a premium for DeAngelo at the deadline. It should require a young, high-end NHL talent coming back our way. Who can spare one of those while pushing for the playoffs?

Your lack of empathy for the situation is astounding. You don't understand why people are attached to the guy who has been our starting goalie for 15 years and one of the best Rangers of all time?

I don't think any one is suggesting the Rangers don't do whats best for the organization overall, but how can you not be even remotely upset that the end of his era is here?

I’m astounded at your response. What empathy would you like to see? Was supporting and cheering for the guy non-stop not enough? It’s no different than with Eli Manning, You ride and support the team and player. When your on the back nine you see the end and know it’s coming. When it’s over, that’s it.

Ny has legends in every sport. You celebrate the ride and you thank them for the memories. That’s sports. Anything more is a bit over the top unless you’re related to the guy or have dinner with him on occasion.

Certainly something to consider. However, that's the year Zibanejad, Kakko, and Fox are all going to need new deals. The Rangers might want that cap flexibility in their back pocket. Especially if they plan on committing to Kreider and the hope is that Chytil takes over that 2C role.

Press conference announcing he will be bought out with him there to celebrate his legacy. If he comes back in a new uni, have a video package so the fans can cheer and recognize him. Then eventually raise his jersey into the rafters and have a ceremony. If you think that's too much then I don't know what to tell you.

and the Rangers can do that for Hank. Who said we couldn’t? Not sure what to tell you!!! He doesn’t retire and he doesn’t want to be traded. He just sits on the bench. What are we supposed to do? Close Wall Street?

Doesn’t sound like the Rangers are in a rush to make a move today.

They have this ridiculous Moms trip during trade deadline week. And no the Moms part is not what is ridiculous.

Therefore I could see them making the trade after their Friday game against Carolina.

In that scenario Skjei and Buch go, everyone else stays.

I’m all for Brady gone b/c of what’s coming. I can’t see Kreider remaining.

I could see the above move with Strome and ADA facing arbitration for 1 year contracts.

we will see soon

Attached? He doesn't know you. He's a guy who plays hockey for a living, not your family member or friend.

So Florida trades away a depth forward to a direct rival for their last playoff spot in exchange for a worse, older player who isn't even a NHLer.

Someone rationalize this move for me.

after Dave Gettleman traded a high 3rd and likely 4th for a pending FA with his team all but eliminated from the playoffs, nothing surprises me.

Lets please put the Hank sentiments aside for now.

No matter what side you fall on for this debate, it is muddy waters to navigate and neither side can tell the other how they should feel. The situation is not black and white.

It's your over the top responses that are what's ridiculous. You are sarcastically saying things like "I’m not even sure what a proper sendoff is these days. A retirement tour? Parade? Shed some tears? Free car ceremony?" just because people want to treat Henrik's situation with respect.

Decent chance it's setting up trading another fwd for D trade by Toronto. For Florida, I don't think there really was a spot for him in the top 6, he's blocking others, and I believe he's waiver eligible next year.

10000% agree. I’m generally not a fan of moving players to their off side but I’d rather try it than trade Tony.

Agree. If we trade Tony for anything short of a massive overpayment without even trying him on the left, I'm going to be pretty upset.

I'll be absolutely livid if we trade Tony for anything short of a massive overpayment without even trying him on the left if it's a precursor to re-signing Kreider.

Dale Tallon is bad at player evaluation, that's about it

The Rangers have handled this situation with respect. If you think otherwise, take it up with the Rangers,

My responses are in response to what others feel is a proper send off while claiming the Rangers have handled this situation terribly.

I’m a Rangers fan and my team always comes before the individual as me and others were fans before these players and will be long after they are gone. All players within the team are supported and rotated out. That’s it.
