I think the Gauthier deal could mean something is reasonably close on Fast. Mentioned it in that trade thread, but I think Gauthier could be a guy who is a short-term fill-in for Fast on that Strome/Panarin line. Rangers get it done now in case Fast gets moved before the next game and they have to replace him without shuffling the lineup around too much. Keep in mind they're going on the road and only have 12 bodies up front with Smith filling in on D while Tony is out.

I think they moved Keane because of what they have at RD.
Unless they're turning around and trading Timmins, it doesnt make much sense.

Is he better than Trouba, ADA, or Fox? Or Lundkvist even? I do not want the centerpiece of a Kreider trade to be an RD prospect.

Well I guess it all depends - if Timmins is still highly regarding around the league who's to say you couldn't then flip him for a F prospect you like?
His injury history, specifically the concussions, are a major red flag however. I'd be interested in him but not as a main piece.

Studnicka is super difficult to give up, would Vaakanainen be good enough? No issues giving up Heinen. He's a solid and versatile player but there isn't a great fit for him on the team at the moment.
