Well, he created this mess by playing Georgiev so much early in the season
You play your best goalie to win the games

I’d be pissed as F if hank starts the isles game. That game has playoff implications all over it and georgie’s Been money against them twice in a week.I get the argument, but I also don't think they are going to let Hank sit for that long. We'll see what happens, I guess.
SeriouslyThe next time the leafs gamble on potential will be the first. They're scared to death of the media and the fans.
I'd be all over Georgie and Lias for Kapanen
What mess?
Can they do the same for #18 as well?

Me too, but that’d be a hell of a trade for a contender to pull off mid season, especially lacking a 1st round pick and without any big time prospects banging down the door to play in the NHL. Would definitely require at least one good young player off their current squad and more likely two.I would be very curious to see what Toronto offers for a package of Skjei/Georgiev/Andersson.
Yeah, and this is part of what I was alluding to earlier when I posted about how Geo still also is a bit unproven...I love Geo, and is so impressed with especially his professionalism and how he manage to be unaffected by whatever. But I am not in the corner of “we can’t trade him because he is the man”...
Shesterkin tonight and Georgiev on Tuesday. The Rangers don't play again until January 31. Lundqvist's last start was on January 11. If he plays one of the two Detroit games on 1/31 & 2/2, one start in three weeks. I like the Rangers strategy. They are ****ing with Henrik's mind.
The amount of vitriol around here for a guy that's arguably the greatest Ranger to ever put on the sweater is truly remarkable. The guy has kept his chin up, been a great teammate/mentor, accepted his role for the betterment of the team as it's redefining itself, and said nothing but great things about the organization his entire career. And people like you **** on him because of his salary and he's not what he was at 28 when he's 37. It's really disappointing. And it's not just you.
It's despicable. Deep down, I actually support a strategy of gently forcing Lundqvist's hand regarding his future, but the guy has more than earned reverence and respect if he is indeed on the way out.

The contempt for a mount rushmore ranger, that ultimately is rooted in a contract management freely gave, is shameful. And why? This isn't a cup team in the next 18 months. The amount of vitriol around here for a guy that's arguably the greatest Ranger to ever put on the sweater is truly remarkable. Since Shesterkin's recall, he has played 2 games and Georgiev has played 2 games. Hank has been the backup in every one of those games. That isn't a coincidence. They aren't going to put him in the press box unless he is injured. The Rangers are doing their best to manage everything, and Quinn has said that it's difficult, because he wants to get everyone time, but he also wants to reward someone who is playing well. It does make sense to let Georgiev play against the Islanders, given what he has done against them the last 2 games. But at the same time, if Hank doesn't play, it will be 20 days between starts. If he doesn't play against the Islanders, I think he gets the first game out of the break, and maybe both, against Detroit.
I do think the ASB will be a major crossroads for the 3 headed dragon. This could legitimately end with either Georgiev or Lundqvist traded. Henrik will have the break to contemplate his future. Risk playing out the year with this rotation, miss out on 2 cup runs, or pick your spot and be competitive. It's despicable. Deep down, I actually support a strategy of gently forcing Lundqvist's hand regarding his future, but the guy has more than earned reverence and respect if he is indeed on the way out.
Considering what goalies have got in the past, Kapanen/Johnsson would be actually be a great return for Georgiev. We need wingers too, especially when we trade Kreider and AJ/Kap are versatile middle 6 wingers that are like Fast but much more skilledI don’t really think Georgiev for a young middle sixer is that easy of a swap. It would be a really short sighted move, something this team and fan base have been very guilty of. Kappanen is a nice player, but who has a much greater impact on the the game itself? It’s obviously the goalie. We’ve seen plenty of good and great teams struggle with crappy goaltending. I don’t force a goalie move since a rebuilding team like this is in a much better position long term with 2 solid options, and Shesty is still unproven at this level. I would much rather keep both goalies then to giveaway a potential impact goalie like Georgiev to solve some silly roster issue now. It would have to be an overpayment, and even then it still might not be the shrewdest.
I get all that and have seen plenty of the goalie trades. But as I said, who has the greater impact on the game? Depth wingers or goalies? Yes it’s helpful getting a nice young winger now, I get that, but is it really the smart move for this team now. I don’t know if it is, to me Georgiev is already an impact goalie now.Considering what goalies have got in the past, Kapanen/Johnsson would be actually be a great return for Georgiev. We need wingers too, especially when we trade Kreider and AJ/Kap are versatile middle 6 wingers that are like Fast but much more skilled

Yzerman should be blocked.Think Detroit would have a problem doing this? Yzerman is cutthroat and he needs a goaltender. San Jose?
Jesus, they are not “f***ing” with Henrik’s mind. I know you would like to believe that as the heartless robot you are that is getting giddy at the thought of it.Shesterkin tonight and Georgiev on Tuesday.
