BBK and Edge led us into the rec room for punch but actually released a swarm of bees and locked the door.

For those who want to do a buyout... check this out

Jared Sexton@jaredjsexton

The cap hits of Shattenkirk and Smith combine to $11M. If they are both bought out, the cap hit in 20-21 would be a combined $9,229,166. So if the plan is to buy them out to free up cap space this summer, there needs to be an additional plan to clear just as much next summer.

Enough with the buyout talk. Much easier to trade vesey, named, and shatty at 50%
Why would people follow this guy? He's 31 shades of bonkers.

Not Ranger related, but Nashville is looking to turnover a good portion of their roster.

Subban and Turris have been out there, as are Bonino & Smith.

There is good interest on Bonino. Teams are looking at the St.Louis model.

STL acquired all of their centers through trade or free agency after not having any center depth. They drafted poorly and never developed that position well enough to contend.

ROR- Cost a 1st and a recent 1st round pick.
Schenn- Cost 2 1sts
Bozak- Free agent
Sundqvist-Trade with a 1st

Ugh, 4 to 5 pieces feels like Edmonton with Lucic. I was hoping that died with the Trouba trade, but I'm not panicking yet. I was hoping the initial teaser was a Dallas trade, essentially their 2019 for the 2020 first. Helps both teams.

I don’t want to swap that pick. It’s 18. That barely helps us at all.

I want a top center. Kreider is our main asset to get up in the draft this year. I want to have an extra shot and extra ammo next year to get one of 2020’s top centers if I have to.

The fact that everyone is in the same room only makes it more likely that something big happens, like say 4/5 pieces.
The awards are in Vegas not Vancouver

90% of everyone’s staff is probably at happy hour about to head for dinner in Vancouver

I'm inclined to support your take, but..
It insures a 1st in the event Dallas balks at the re-signing because of the unprotected 1st next year. It gets us the pick now, and the sooner we draft, the sooner the gears are moving for that piece.

Its calculated. It guarantees the 1st for us and as likely as it is to be a lottery pick, the same odds exist that it will be worse.
