Strome+3rd

for

Giordano (50% retained)

if it's something like this I won't really know how to feel. It doesn't feel like great asset management since Gio is an aging D and Strome has had career years here. Seems like it'll be a move to even things out since we're getting a big time C

Adding Eichel and Giordano is pretty cozy for me. Yeah it's concerning with Jack's neck but I'm trying to think about more of the positives that both these moves could bring this team and it's exciting. At the very least, our biggest addition has been Gallant and I'm hoping next season we're dominant and in the conversation with some of the best teams.

I want people to fear us again

IF Eichel was healthy he could make this team a legit contender real fast with a few other smart moves this offseason, but I still think it's a big risk
I can't really imagine Strome would go for Gio straight up though, that's just bad asset management

I'd save Strome for another trade.

Now Molly did mention that Seattle is AMONG the teams with interest in Strome. Does this necessarily mean Strome for Gio?

Might be reasonable if "asset" is approximately worth Gourde.
Yeah wishful thinking - it’ll be Gio retained and MacDermid for Strome. We trade Buch to STL for Thomas and Sanford

Laf Mika Kakko
Pan Chytil Goodie
Krieder Thomas Krat
Sanford Rooney Barron
(Mac/Goat)
Lindgren Fox
Gio Trouba
Miller Lundkvist
(Smith/Mac)

Honestly feel we'd get the sweetener but maybe that's just Copium from me

If they're trading Strome for Giordano and still need Giordano to have salary retained, that's got to point to Eichel. What else could it be with the amount of space they have this year?

Yeah on second glance at their cap space and signing Goodrow, subtracting Strome, assuming Buch isn't re-signed...things do get tight if there isn't retention in places if they went after Gio and Eichel, though who knows what woudl go the other way in an Eichel trade

Guys, let the Eichel denial go. For better or worse he was gonna be a Ranger waaaaaaay back when the rumors first started last year, we've all seen this show before.

Doesn't seem like good value to me for a 38 year old. As I mentioned in my last post, Gio is a player that checks a lot of boxes for what they need, but not at the expense of Strome, unless there is more coming back.

I mean its possible if Giordano has another good year they could keep him (certainly not at 6.75M, but being 38 by that time he likely would have to take a cut you would think)

Once upon a time, that would've been a great thing. Now he's one bad sneezing fit away from retirement. Not so good.
