But to be fair, there is almost NO one they could have hired that you wouldn't have complained about. Lavi just happens to be someone that everyone is pretty much universally against.

I would've been happy with Q, Sutter, Roy, Brind'Amour, Torts, or the great Messier
Was really hoping it would be Roy. Wonder if there's still a chance of that as it appears things may not be as set in stone as we were led to believe. I wonder how married to Brind'Amour the Canes are after getting swept, they do have his kid as a player too though.

They're definitely who I've been rooting for ever since we got eliminated, everybody loves them though and they're in our conference. If I had a second team it would be the Yotes, hopefully they don't get moved lol. I just love their jerseys/aesthetic and I have a fascination with deserts and the southwestern US. I also love dogs, and we have a lot of coyotes where I live

Yeah... but the Rangers odds of winning the cup were like 1 out of 20 if you go by Vegas odds or 1 out of 16 if you just go by 16 teams, 1 winner. Give me those odds and f*** YEAH, I'll put 10 grand on winning the lottery...

Torts and Brind'Amour have jobs. Those aren't happening.
Q is someone the place has gone back and forth on and I'd rather not open that door again. I don't really see what would make Roy a good choice other than the fact that he would be entertaining (I'd prefer him to Lavi strictly because there is an element of unknown there.)
Sutter would have been great if he would have actually come here.
Messier would be worse than Laviolette.
Already got one. But they are going to suck for at least another year or two, lol.
Honestly I'm mostly rooting for the kids, all the kids on the team. How the hell do you survive this madness? No wonder Kreider talks about "the Process" as key to long term survival. He's a read man and was probably referring to Kafka's The Trial (Der Process in German)...

Yeah but the Rangers aren't just spending $10k either. The analogy is relevant in the sense that they are giving up too much, more than they can truly afford when it's first round picks and prime prospects, for too little odds of profit.

People really have no idea how little tort would improve this roster.
He’s not gonna get the most out of Mika, or Panarin, or Kreider.
He’ll love laf, but also absolutely hate fox.
He’d wreck this team and franchise. It wouldn’t even be a 3 year setback, it’d be at least 5-8 years to recover from what he’d do.
He can get the most out of borderline nhl guys, but he’s never gonna get a skill guy to play better, and almost our entire top 6 is skill.
