Doubling down on a top line of Panarin-Zib-Kreider. For the simple move of making Panarin not play east west when he's with those two. Laf can go back to his natural side -- stop f***ing around with that already -- on the Kid Line. You got Blais, a LW, coming back, and he logically becomes the 3LW. Maybe with Vatrano on the right and Copp at C, who knows?

I like Copp too but if the Rangers saw him as a center, he would have been there. They played a near crippled Ryan Strome and Kevin Rooney to avoid putting Copp at center.

I have no interest whatsoever in paying Copp to play wing for this team and putting another coach's toy in front of Laf and Kakko.

tbh for the first time, I'm completely content with moving one of Panarin, Kreider or Trouba.

I'd absolutely shop Trouba and get out of that 8M per deal. Fox, Schneider, Lundkvist on the right side.

Is there a cheap veteran that can fill in as 2c that is looking for a run at the cup next season that the rangers could possibly get a discount on? I think trying to get a young 2c in the trade market is going to be close to impossible and probably will end up being worse than Chytil. Draft some centers and hope you can fill in the 2c/3c role with cheap veterans for a few years. I wouldn't mind Chytil as 3c for another year and hopefully he becomes a monster on the faceoff dot over the offseason because it's killing him right now. I really think moving forward Kreider/Chytil/Kakko will be the 2nd line of the future and could happen sometime next season. Whatever line Chytil is centering is the line that best resembles playoff hockey and it's because of him.

Can we try to make one line, whether it's the Messier, Gilbert, Ratelle, Hadfield line that looks like it makes sense.

That's how I envision the lineup shaping up ideally with the guys we have at the moment. Very preliminary.

Really not sure where I stand on re-signing copp, Motte I'd like to keep but I think he will be too costly, Vatrano I do like but in a depth scoring role and again he will want too much. I don't love Kravtsov on the top line but I'm not sure where else he fits, don't think he's the ideal RW on Panarin's line.

Trade Trouba is the goal, however unlikely that is. I still like the idea of Chychrun, he's a great skater and he's had good defensive impacts but I don't know how good of a puck mover he is and that is something that would concern me if he isn't.

It really is so simple. Play Laf Chytil Kakko next season and give them 16-18 mins a game through thick and thin and stick to them. All of them need support to be at their best, and guess what, they naturally support each other and they have synergy - a rare thing. And bring in someone with a brain who can fine tune them on the X's and O's, not exactly the strength of the current group. Simple plan, reap great rewards in the very near future.

But yeah, management and coaching won't do that. They'll bring in more vets to hustle bustle burrr hurrrr, same as ever. That's their comfort zone and scope of understanding.

He's an actual center, you are not dedicating years to him, talking a 1 year deal with him. 103 playoff games in his career, a true veteran player, it's been laid out why he fits here by smarter people than me, just need to go back a few pages.
