The New York Franchise was quick to advertise their #2 pick in 2019. I believe most who are season ticket holders enjoy to watch Kakko already next season in MSG, @Ola I actually dont mind the other players there to go for a Calder cup and they all need a top role & TOI! :)
I also believe that Kratsov is ready for NHL hockey so wishful thinking. ;)

Put Zibby on the Hartford squad and they are better than NY already.

I agree, they are too good with Zibby. I upgraded my strategy with a Zibby trade, a new "Deal 1":

Zibanejad to Minnesota for Kaprizov and Fiala.

I like how the NYR and HFD are completely interchangeable. No A or B squad. Can’t tell the difference. Very synergetic.

There’s really no reason to approach the idea of trading Zibanejad. He’s under contract for a few more years as a productive first line center. He’s part of the upward growth of this team.

So does that mean panarin will or won’t score 80-95-100 points. I mean 30-50 is 80 35-55 is 90 40-60 is 100. The guy is about a 30-40 goal scorer and a 50-60 assist guy. 80-100 points. Play Mika and panarin together and both guys will top 90 together
Where does him being a 40 goal scorer come from.... cause his high is like 32 I think...

I would not like to see any call-ups during the season. Even @RangerBoy must approve of this roster:

Gettinger-Strome-Vinny L
Lemieux-Howden-Lazar
Smith-Boo-Fast
Staal-TDA

Hehe, but I would like the contrast between the horrible season we would have, only to have one of Lafreniere/Byfield/Raymond/Holtz; Kakko, Kravtsov and Kaprizov come on the roster the season after. ;)

I also think next season would be a very deserving season for Hank, Kevin Shattenkirk, Marc Staal and Brendan Smith to have in NY. They deserve to be in the spot light! Have a great time in NY.

It would be fun when they came crawling to Gorton requesting trades...

The Athletic had their team beat writers analyze each team’s roster. Josh Cooper covers the Kings. He listed Adrian Kempe and Tyler Toffoli as two players not certain to return for next season.

Rob Blake doesn’t appear to be the brightest guy in the NHL. The awful Kovalchuk contract. Desjardins as interim coach. The players said their practices were awful under Willie. What would he want for those players?

Kempe prefers to play in the middle. He has been playing mostly on the wing. He turns 23 this September. He might be ready for a change of scenery. He could develop into a quality bottom six option for the Rangers. Great skater. Good size at 6-2 200. Kempe is a Group II without arbitration rights this summer.

Toffoli’s name was available was mentioned at the trading deadline. There wasn’t much of a market for him. It’s tough to get good value for a player making $4.8M next season and he ended up with 13 goals. Not sure how many he had in late February. It was a tough trade market too.

He had 23 goals in 14-15. 31 goals in 15-16. 24 goals in 17-18. Toffoli will be a Group III next summer. The Rangers buy low, raise his value and flip him at the trading deadline. The guy can put the puck in the net.

The Rangers have a few players who need a change of scenery. Jimmy Vesey. Vlad Namestnikov. Both of them are Group III next summer.

Kevin Shattenkirk. The Kings might buy out Phaneuf. They could use a veteran D.

LD is an interesting position to look at right now. We have Skjei, Smith, and Staal currently, but in training camp I expect Hajek, Lindgren, and Rykov to push for spots. I think Hajek gave himself a very good chance of making the team out of camp with his cup of coffee. It was only dive games, but he was impressive. Lindgren looked like he improved a lot in his second callup as well IMO, he’ll have a good shot. Rykov is very toolsy and has been playing in a men’s league so I could see him being ready to play as well.

I really wonder if Skjei’s name will be thrown around. We know that Smith and Staal are - basically - immovable, barring us adding extremely good assets to them in a trade. Which would be monumentally stupid. So, for better or worse, Staal and Smith are gonna be here next year. Staal is pretty much a lock to play I’d say, Smith maybe not but there’s no doubt IMO that he’ll end up getting at least a few games due to injuries or lineup shuffling. Skjei has a contract that would be incredibly difficult to trade in-season, so it might to be better to get ahead of this now.

Honestly, at this point, just let Smith play out his contract as an overpriced 4th line wing. We've got the cap room and it frees up a spot on the left side for one of the aforementioned rookie LD.

I would not be shocked if Skjei is another asset being considered by Gorton as part of a package to move into the top ten.

@Ola is soon in group V next season. Actually I thought Henrik was going to ask after this TDL.:DD
Jeff Skinner has not yet extended his contract with Buffalo..

What about Skinner - Zib/Hughes - Kakko/Kratsov ? :)
