Kakko and Chytil have similar point numbers, except that Kakko was a 2nd overall pick. That alone adds value. Kakko also has much better possession numbers. So there’s an easier projection to points.

Kakko has also been out for almost 1/3 of this season. I dont see him getting more than 2 years at $2.5MM.

I also dont think the player will want to sign for more than 2 years either.

Lafreniere didn't jump him, he was always better.

I'm not sure I agree on KAM though.

We dont have to agree but im not sure what youre watching if you think Miller, who is having a breakout season, hasnt jumped Kakko, who is having a season where hes continued to disappoint production wise and cant get on the ice.

What is Kakko worth?

Puljujarvi was the 4th pick overall in 2016. He struggled more than Kakko has in his first three NHL seasons. He went to Finland for one season before returning to Edmonton. Puljujarvi signed a 2 year worth $1,175,000 AAV.

Kakko has 24 goals and 54 points in 151 NHL games. It sucks that he got injured and hasn't played since January. The wrist bothered him before January. The Rangers say Kakko is skating on his own and could be back next month.

Nothing serious turned into wrist surgery.

Carolina gave Kotkaniemi the offer sheet as payback for the Aho offer sheet.

Why is Miller having a breakout season?

He had 5 goals and 5 assists at 5v5 in 53 games last year.
He has 3 goals and 9 assists at 5v5 in 66 games this year.
Hid defensive numbers are nearly identical.
His ice time is down 50 seconds.

He's just scored a couple of big goals lately. Seems like the same guy when I watch him.

I dont think the numbers tell the whole story. He's been much better defensively and he's cut down the bad turnovers. Also playing with much more of a physical edge and growing confidence offensively.

3 x 2.5M would be a steal. Take him to 1RFA season left and the cap ready to takeoff.

2x 2.3-2.5 is what we'll probably get

When you say he still seems the same I hope you mean he still seems like a phenomenal young player who will dominate the ice for the next decade.

Who is playing the offer sheet game with the Rangers for a guy who has been injured and unproductive so far in his career? Not a smart organization thats for sure. I still believe in Kakko as an effective player but the OS fears seem misplaced.

Next Year, I'd like to see

CK - MZ - FV
AP - AC - KK
AL - FC - BG
TM - JB - SB

PP1 - CK - MZ - AL - AP - AF
PP2 - FC - AC - KK - FV - JT

He's hurt, that's why he can't get on the ice.

Miller is having a very nice season but what's he breaking out into? A very good second pair D? Or a top pair on par with Fox?

I still think Kakko is a RW1 some point soon.

Sure, but I generally don't start deducting points for it until it becomes habitual. Fox missed time this season too. Zibanejad has missed time. Panarin has been injured and has had "personal issues," that caused him to miss time. K'Andre didn't jump them.

I agree he's playing better but I also hesitate to call it a "break out." He's cut down on the bad, as you pointed out, but I tend to think the numbers regarding a break-out would be more obvious.

This is completely irrelevant. The comparison was between K'andre & Kakko.

Mollie reporting the finalists for Bobby Trivigno are NYR, NYI, FLA & NSH. Have to think the Rangers are in good position, but maybe he sees the Islanders as an easier path to the NHL lineup considering their age.

Trivigno will get games after Clutterbuck retires at age 46, maybe

NRD on twitter says Rangers. He is one of the best insiders out there in my opinion.

Gallant should get Adams consideration due to their record with McKegg in the lineup alone.

I was told repeatedly that McKegg would not come out of the lineup at all bc turk loved him. Was flat out told that rental trades would be benched for keg. Funny how all that shit has disappeared...
