The Rangers are right there. A little more patience. Cap space is the biggest obstacle facing the Rangers.

I didn't want the Rangers to re-sign Kreider. That had to do with how players like Kreider age. Power forwards don't age well. James Neal. Jamie Benn. Max Pacioretty. Those are just a few examples. Kreider is younger than those players. Benn is an albatross for the Stars at $9.5M. Pacioretty is so beat up. He can't stay healthy. Hopefully. Kreider breaks Jagr's record for most goals scored this season. He is on the team for another two seasons. After that, all bets are off.

I think these things are so hard to read, at least for me. All of a sudden I watch someone play and can’t recognize the player. Thomas Kaberle lol.

But I am still a bit hopeful about Kreider. I was against resigning him too. But look at Wheeler for example. He just kept getting better. Is Kreider a PF? He don’t hit much, he don’t fight.

Nils wasn’t fine in transition. He blew.

Not to mention he was iffy to bad in so many other areas. Say what you want, but he was heavily, heavily sheltered with the Rangers. I don’t think Schneider has been a game changer either, but he’s eaten more minutes (and tougher ones, remember he had to eat top 4 minutes for a grip with Fox out) and has been better.
