Our team is basically a pretender with a great goalie . Time is our biggest need . We likely don't see round 2 until Laf-KK-Chytil-Miller-Schneider take the next step to a higher level . Panarin and Mika will never carry this club without those guys bringing an all around game to the ice . It's just something that can take time....trading good futures away to win a series this year is a mistake . 4th rounders for depth forwards is the right way to go or actual hockey trades . I don't see Drury doing much to hurt our talent pool today or in the future . They might even give Chytil another half season /extended look . Replacing Strome will be his biggest off season task unless he figures Chytil can actually handle it ? He has the tools....but does he have the toolbox ?
Best post I’ve read in a while. Kudos

Larry has suggested Dach a few times , I have to imagine he’s just spit balling names but if Chicago is sudo blowing it up, I wonder what he’d cost

Drury's biggest task will be figuring out the middle6 center situation. IMO we have Wingers playing Center currently.

If he can address it at the TDL, fine. That'd be the only thing worth paying for.

For some reason I see Staal returning to the Rangers.

Staal Suter to NYR for Robertson and 2ed (Blues)

Suter is underrated forward. Suter is 51.4 on faceoffs. He is 2ed behind Larkin who is 51.7

get this done.. Suter is one guy the Rangers should inquire. One more year at 3.25 and only 25 years old. Has international expierence so knows how to play in this pressue situations
Holy f*** this is bad. Like even a die hard Wings fan would say that’s way too much. Pius Suter is worth a 4th at absolute most. Staal is worth FC

No. No retreads. No nostalgia. We have Nemeth playing the part of big slow veteran D.

They play Dach on the wing a lot. I think he has the same vibe as Chytil, where he makes some great plays every couple games and the physical tools are obvious but he never looks like meshing with his linemates.

I’ve said it before but man would it be funny on the boards if they basically do nothing but trade for Strome’s brother. He’s good on faceoffs now! I don’t think that really matters but some people do

This is a pretty bad trade offer. Suter is OK. Staal is a depth D. They are not worth Robertson and a 2nd rd pick

Vezina caliber G, D, LW

4O goal LW
Top C
Added Grit
Proven coach

I don’t expect them to win but they are better then alot of teams

It's funny because Frank Seravalli thinks the Rangers want someone with term. Now I do think Elliotte has a bit more credibility than Frank but it's funny how the signals don't seem to align, probably since no one knows what the Rangers really want to do.

Yea they could go a few ways

I’m for more deals like the Vatrano one . Weaponize the cap space while keeping high picks and prospects

Brooks saying that Rakell is the most likely forward if the cost is right and Giordano is believed to be the target on D. He said he would be surprised if Lafreniere is on the top line when the playoffs start

I have a sneaking suspicion Miller isn't completely dead. Friedman and co. are all saying Vancouver is now trying to move Boeser and Garland now which is true and all but I think Rutherford is still waiting for someone to step up on Miller with NHL ready 21 year olds so the owner can accept trading their team MVP with playoff in their sightline. Most Canucks fans recognize that Miller on a 7 year mega deal is not ideal if they're unlikely to win anything for 3-4 years of Miller's early 30s. I think Rutherford is still wanting to get a home run a la Sakic Duchene for J.T Miller and make decision on Boeser and Garland later as both are younger on term or controllable. Maybe I'm paranoid but I think Vancouver is still trying to get a home run on Miller, hence pretending to pull him off the market.

It would be the smartest decision for them

Want no part of Domi.

Domi isn't near the top of my list either but I did watch the Metro recap from Seravalli's pod earlier and he mentioned that Domi was actually producing at a decent rate this year and people were overlooking it. Turns out he's right. His A/60 is a little above the rate that he scored at in his big season with Montreal. His G/60 is about 40% lower but 2.3P/60 isn't anything to sneeze at. We could do worse.

He's on my list of guys I'd circle back to at 2PM on Monday if he still hasn't been moved and other buyers have already filled out their lists. Try to get him on the cheap.

Ya, it really would. Not sure. Why weren't FLA and COL interested in Miller? The reporting on that has always been for Giroux. If Vancouver retains for Miller, I know that's a tough ask for an aspiring team like VAN but for this year and the next when they're unlikely to win, they can have the farm from COL or FLA. I don't know. I know there's immense internal pressure to win after the players are unhappy, owner disgruntled, and fans now feeling it under Boudreau.

This isn't a doomer post; it's the most likely odds.
