I mean his teams are awful, completely awful. Any d man putting up 15+g on those teams is fine. If you put him on this team with the offensive players we have I'm confident he is putting up 40pts fairly easily...
Yesh but he only put up 15 goals or even 30 points once. A bad team is tough for sure but it also gives good players tons of opportunities, PP1 time etc

pp1 time doesnt mean anything when you are playing with that roster.

I'm really not sure if people realize how bad Arizona is right now, maybe 10 NHL players pm that team:

Yesh I get they’re bad. But he plays big minutes in all situations and has only once hit the markers for the kind of d-man production that warrants the kind of return people are talking about.

While true, it would have been twice if not for the covid pause.

I'd worry more about his durability than his production, thats been a bit sketchy.

Honest question but is anyone a bit surprised at the attention Schneider is getting from other teams' fans in trade proposals? It seems his popularity has risen a bit fairly quickly. I always thought Nils L. was the more coveted prospect but now it seems like he's a boring name to add to a trade proposal while other fans have tunnel vision for Schneider. I'm just a bit surprised that's all.

The vast majority of fans have never seen either of them play. It's likely a combination of looking at Nil's stat line and wondering why a guy they think of as a "offense only" d-man doesn't have a ton of points, as well as them having seen his name in a bunch of trade proposals on the main boards over the last several months (the more they see a player offered, the more they think that player sucks).

I think it’s come down to rumored availability. If he’s most likely off limits, the main boards demand he be added to all trades. Nil’s could end up better but because he’s deemed available he’s a lesser prospect to them.

A+ avatar.

Maybe stop posting ridiculous takes about him?

It was 2 years before, now it's 3?

There are some people on here, I dunno if they've compartmentalized it into Schneider v. Lundkvist, or whether it's an anti-Euro thing, or they think he's a finesse offensive D-man who won't be able to defend (untrue), or what, but the takes on Lundkvist are so hot that it will burn your eyes out reading them.

The amount of ridiculous trades I've seen where he's a throw-in to a rental or a third line grinder are insane.

He remains a hot property and a likely top-4 defender some day just like Schneider. IF Schneider has passed him on the right side depth chart due to team preference of play style, Lundkvist remains an elite asset that should be parlayed into an elite return, either by himself for a young forward/center of similar top-6 upside, or in a package for a 1C.

Some of the garbage returns I've seen proposed by the people who are ready to rush him out of the organization are just delirious.

He may be traded. It shoudn't be for nothing.

And as a stupid talented kid, there's a decent chance he CAN move to the left side and play there.

IMO we keep Schneider over Lundkvist for the simple fact Schneider is a tougher and larger player. He eats space and takes away what's left with his skating ability. Lundkvist is redundant with Fox unless he can learn to play LD.

That said, I agree with you. He isn't fodder for a rental or grinder. The recent trades of Jones/Boqvist and Stone/Brannstrom are more realistic. X + X + Lundkvist for... Star LD, 2C, RW that may or may not be publicly available. Drury has shown a willingness to ask about players not on the block and willing to pony up to aquire then (Reeves, Blais).

If Arizona actually gets Florida to include Lundell, they aren't turning around and trading him away.

Re: the bold--out of curiosity, why not? I think he'd be a great fit on a line with Kreider and Zib, and he'd be a cheap rental with very solid post-season numbers.
Hard to pin down, I like him think he’s quirky and I think the players get that but does Gallant? It’s always hard to tell if a guy like that is in shape or not.

No one has ridiculous takes on Nils. He's no where near as good as what you thought and sold him as. Let go. He may get there eventually but not now. As we speak he's #4 on the depth chart. You could argue Jones being right there with him.

And you've made this determination on the basis of 20 NHL games, got it.

Truth

Chychrun’s family lives in South Florida

I pray that you are right about that.

Lundell would be amazing.

I really couldn't engineer a better fit for exactly what we need.

20 years old.... check

On an ELC.... check

Can play in the NHL right now and contribute .... check

Has future mid-level 1C potential .... check

Plays a gritty, defensive-conscious game.... check

Has tons of unrealized upside and yet a very high floor .... check

Seems to have started with the western Cañada fans who may have been tracking him since he was 16
