Your second point is not true.
The answer to your first point is playoff revenue. $5MM per game. Getting 4-5 home playoff games is big casino.

Seems more likely we only get two home playoff games with this roster, if we even make the playoffs. How many assets would Dolan want to spin off to get an additional $10m? Is he hard up all of a sudden?
Management will make that call but my sense is they don't agree with you. And don't think of this as just Dolan looking for more money. A lot of people in the organization are probably spiffed and bonused based on revenue.
You looking at this as a fan, not as someone who has skin in the game.

You don't win with depth alone. We tried that shit and failed. You need your top guys to show up as well. Once your top-6 is neutralized, there's no way you outscore teams in the play offs.

I agree. IMO 2 out of Fox, Kreider, Zibs and Panarin need to carry us offensively. If all of them show up, it's even better.
I still have my hopes that Laf and to a lesser extent Kakko, will be better in 'big playoff type games' than the regular ones. I'd take that all day.

Kakko was arguably our best player in the qualifying round. Granted, a small sample size, but it's a good sign.

Robertson, Kravtsov + all day.
No to KAM, he's honestly untouchable in my book.
I think Barron is a perfect middle6 center for this group. It's why I wanted him to get a shot when Strome was in 'protocol'. It's not sexy by any means but I think Zibs-Barron-Goodrow is our best option right now.

It’s pretty rare a player gets traded when their organization wants to keep them. Especially a young cost-controlled player.
We’d have to really overwhelm LA to get a top prospect like that. I don’t even know if that package interests LA tbh.
Miller for Turcotte might work. Depending on whether or not LA needs a LD.

If the 4th line of Hunt-Rooney-Reaves can play like that every night it will help this team go a long way.
kakko's game is tailor made for the playoffs. His board work is absolutely a strength to his game, and the fact that he cant be muscled off the puck by a single player, is exactly what you want.
Kakko needs to just get into a scoring groove, it will happen, and then he'd be a force in the playoffs as he draws 2 defenders to hit an open man.

LA needs D-man in the worst way.
Miller for Turcotte could work. Yes dealing Miller is not ideal but we do have Jones whom could step in for him. We lose in size but gain in offensive ability.
Still in the wings:
Schneider
Robertson
Skinner
Reunanen
Hajek
Jones could play with Trouba covering the 2nd pair defense.
Turcotte would be the center we've been looking for since forever.
You're not replacing miller with jones, youre likely replacing miller with robertson.
KaM and trouba are a big pair, that eats alot of minutes and plays a tough defensive game. Not every pair needs to score 70 points.
KaM also has a ton of upside I really wouldn't want to move.
I'd rather move robertson and kratsov or something like that if they Need a defenseman.
Also of the list of defensemen we have in the "wings" only 2 of them may end up NHL level. Reunanen was a first cut, and hajek is not nhl quality, skinner cant even get out of the ahl.
we haven’t loved the teams play but they have been successful so maybe the beat you up 4th lines been working
The one line no one's had an issue with has been the 4th.
Honestly the play they've given is the shit you need to win in the playoffs.

LA has no reason to do that. If they move one of their centers it’ll be for an established all star. It’s not going to be for another young guy. It’s much easier to get young D than it is to get young C

Would not move KAM for Turcotte. Turcotte is overrated because of his draft position. K’Andre has better tools and despite being considered a project and Turcotte being well rounded and touted as near-NHL ready, K’Andre at the same age was in the NHL while Turcotte isn’t even producing at PPG in the AHL
