Funny enough Marek also mentioned Hayton.

says team are calling on him but AZ has no plans to move him, their new HC likes him a lot.

Same for me. We can afford to let Hayton percolate in the minors for 2-3 years if need be. He’d be a good project/reclamation deal. From watching him last season, it’s not that he’s bad or not talented, just not ready. Needs to add weight and work on his balance.
Thanks for the feedback in the post game thread. I also hope Barron gets more time with better wingers. Would be better for everyone.
If Hayton fills out to a 6’2 215-220 pound 2-3 center with an excellent wrist shot, I’d be thrilled. At least talent wise, him and kravy are comparable If they hit their ceilings

They do, but they should just focus on getting the best value possible for Kravtsov right now if they're 100% focused on trading him. They're already taking a big hit to their talent pool, and they should try to negate that loss as much as possible.

I want an NHL player for Kravtsov. Someone like Tyler Toffoli, maybe we can chip in a prospect like Reunanen to get it done. He would fit perfectly on this team and would be great secondary scoring

Thats fine. You can dislike the contract... I’d much rather see him in at 5.5 or 6 million. That doesn’t change the fact that he’s been the teams 2nd best defenseman the last two years. The defense completely imploded last year when he went out.

I personally think you can do both. There would be no use say adding a right shot dman for this team as we probably have to move one as it is. If we can get a center for Kravtsov, especially one as far along as Podkolzin that would be a huge gain of ground we lost when Anderson flamed out.
 
What are we thinking the lines look like when Strome and Kakko are back?

Panarin - Zib - Kreider
Laff - Strome - Blais
Goodrow - Chytil - Kakko
Hunt - Rooney - Reaves

?

Podkolzin isn’t a center, but that’d also be an extremely easy trade to make for the Rangers. He’s the perfect type of skilled, support W we don’t have in our prospect pool. I also doubt VAN moves him anytime soon.

edit: I may also be misinterpreting your “as far along as Pod” comment, and in that case, I agree. That’d be great to get a C in that stage of his development, and it would make this whole situation a lot better

Kreider is living rent free in Eastern Canada's head. I LOVE this. Let them flap their gums and make him the villain while Foxy, Bread, Zib, Kakko, and Laf light them up while Blais, Godrow, and Reaves soften them up with impunity.

I'd do that. I don't think we're gonna get 1:1 value for Kravtsov.

There's no dumb team like Montreal, fawning over their French Canadian talent. ( Drouin )

The only other scenario I could see working, would be in the offseason. A team up against the cap, may look to add cheap top6 potential... but that would bring back salary or straight up draft picks ( 2022 mid-late 1st ) It will actually help his value if he is suspended all season... Still have term left on his ELC.

He's in Hartford.

He's exactly what we need but he might need a year or two to develop. At best, he develops into a Olofsson type, but hopefully with a 2way game. From what I've gathered he seems willing so there's nothing stopping him. He's overperformed expectations so I wont doubt him.
