The reality he needs a new contract. Its shit or get off the pot time for both sides. If he's agreeable to a fair contract, Im fine with keeping him and getting a new coaching staff's eyes on him, If he's looking to break the bank, Im personally not enthused by that. He hasnt done much to deserve that the last couple years.

Yeah I get it. But there are 2 guys on the team that get out of their own zone with any consistency at all. Miller and Fox. And both do it while playing with complete anchors. When they played together, they never got out of their zone, cause they were never in there to begin with. But the Rangers think good defense is spending all game doing it and not getting scored on. The NHL knows good defense is not having to do it at all. Haha

I’m aware. Are the Devils going to trade for him and pay him 11-12mil? Someone will likely offer him more than that on the open market. I think more will go into his decision than whether he can have sleepovers in Newark with his younger brothers.

Maybe so, 12M might be light too if he wins a Norris or 2 between now and then. The cap is going to do crazy things to player contracts in the next 3 years.

That's likely been the plan for awhile, Sullivan will be putting the full court press on in Milan. Couldve all been avoided if drury had the nuts to actually make the trade with Buffalo. None of these prospects amounted to dick.

Last I remember drury made a good offer for Eichel, and buffalo refused to consider it.

I just don't think it makes us any better.

I'm on the move on from Mika train, but I'm also not of the belief that what we saw from him last year is what we can expect next year.

I still believe Mika is a 70-80+ point player, I just don't like his perimeter style of play.

Given the reality that this franchise is never going to take a smart approach to team building, it's probably their best option (unless McDavid is also available).

Necas would be slightly younger, obviously not as accomplished as Eichel.

Pegula refused to send Eichel to NYR. If I'm Sullivan, I'm skeptical of Drury's track record as GM. Why didn't he have the balls to swing for Guentzel last season with the best team (regular season) in franchise history?
