Peterka isn't going to bring that kind of return. The Sabres need vets & proven NHL players.

This is where my mind was. I'm suspecting Laf does get moved, but I think he is being saved as a piece for a bigger player in the summer.

Peterka has heavily been rumored to be one of the RFAs that will be an offer sheet target this summer. Buffalo probably wants to get out in front of it a bit and has already committed a lot of term and money to their core. He’s a younger Jake Guentzel and has an absurd amount of talent. Go for it, Drury.

I don’t see the upside. At best he has no offense and plays solid D. Either he plays with Fox and kills all his offense or he plays with somebody else who has no skill on a low event pair that just stalls the game

Power and Peterka is too rich for Buffalo, IMO. Byram and Peterka is realistic. I’m not saying that because I’m trying to beat the Byram drum - I’d obviously take the Power return over Byram, but I don’t think Buffalo would do that. I do think they’d do Peterka + Byram for Laf + Schneider. Maybe we can get them to add McLeod for a 3rd or leave McLeod off and they send us a 3rd or prospect to balance the deal. I think Peterka + Byram for Laf + Schneider slightly favors them value wise but Power + Peterka favors us. If there’s a middle ground, I’d be curious to explore it.
