Can't help but wonder about Schneider here. People spent 6 years sucking all the oxygen up about the lottery bros, but Schneider is going on 5 years here unable to be more than a decent 3rd pairing PK guy.

If teams are still high on this guy, I don't know what the rangers are doing holding onto him much longer.
He’s gonna be there for the foreseeable future. A smart GM trades him for a nice haul. Drury keeps him on the 3rd pairing.

is soucy just lindgren 2.0?
no, he's def better on height
remains to be seen about foot speed, chemistry

If overpay is all you ever go for, you'll never pull the trigger. I can get not underselling. Nothing crazy about that. Loss aversion is some real shit. One reason to -- let's just say we get a fair-to-meh package for CK, not a crazy overpay, nor would it be getting fleeced. The question I have to ask is if that deal is making us a better team. That's the most important metric. It's not always "did we win the deal?" Neil Smith objectively lost many deals but he made the team better and his gambles paid off. Drury should definitely do NOT go Neil Smith on us. He's shown great restraint there.

My point is there could be trades out there involving CK where we don't hands down win but still make this team better. From an outsiders perspective, the Trouba deal was "fair-to-meh" but that deal made us so much better. Oh so much better. Like even if we traded Kreider one-for-one for Bischell, that could be a deal that just makes us so much better. Big LD for the future. Potential blue line consistency. CK's not doing much for us. When he is playing, he takes PP time away from someone. If he's not on PP1, Kreider is probably taking Othmann's spot on the PP.
yes all deals you make for a profit of one kind or another

part of that is also the opportunity costs being compared
what you get from trading vs keeping

again, all I'm saying now -- later may be dif -- is no one is gonna pay anything signif now

You guys are wild. Just about everyone on this forum was calling for the Rangers to sign Soucy when he was a ufa. 8 months ago Walman was traded WITH a 2nd round pick for future considerations.
I don’t know why you are telling this to me, I’ve never wanted or advocated for Carson Soucy. At least not in recent memory.

I'm not saying he was wronged, and I'm definitely not outraged. I'm saying it's human nature to quit on your employer when they quit on you, regardless of how much money you make. I hope you guys never work for a company that gets acquired and stripped for parts
I didn’t say it was morally wrong that he quit or that it effected him or something. All I said is that he gave up on the team, which is why it only multiplied his already deficient abilities as a player. Thus, reinforcing the need to move him. The Dmen we have acquired since, quite possibly all of them (Vaak, DeHaan, Soucy, and obviously Borgen) are better players here because of that. There was an overt attitude issue that was now coupled with his already poor play. I wasn’t really discussing the why or the how. It just was. Now it isn’t here.

This is a hivemind, sir

I've been caught up in more than one of these in the music biz when Napster basically changed that industry forever. It's not a good feeling, but I also wasn't making $8M per. I'm not saying that we don't all have the right to want to be valued at work, but the expectations of pro athletes should be clear that moving on is a part of the job.

This also wasn't the first time Tuba pulled a hard ball move on a team, so it's clear his thought process & his ego are telling him he's somehow above the fray.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we’re done or make a very minor move tomorrow. I also expect a lot of the bigger deals in general have already happened. JT Miller, Seth Jones, Rantanen. I’m guessing it’s a slow day.

Last day of TDL has seemed typically slower the last few years than in the time prior
