We're second in the league in wins since early February, iirc from the MSG broadcast the other night.
6-3-1 in our last 10. Not bad that's fair. But team analytics tells a tough story. Exactly average team. Maybe slightly below. And that matches what we are seeing and talking about in game threads. Too much time in our end. Not fast enough. Getting more physical though so that's good. Lacking talent. I.e. good playmakers, finishers, etc.. Hopefully we get hot, but it would have to be core of the sun hot to beat some of the teams out there.

What if the Lindgren, Smith, and Soucy deals were all today?
Avs might not have made the Lindgren deal today with all they had going on. We probably pay more for Soucy.

I'm glad Drury stayed away today. The last minute prices were way too much from a lot of teams.

Hartford’s defense blows, so would rather have kept Bran, but possible he asked for a trade considering he’s about 12th on the Rangers depth chart.

Its funny to me how they have Vesey inked in as the 4th line winger on Colorado but he couldnt crack the lineup for the Rangers this year
Not really. He played 33 games for the Rangers this year. Playing 1 game for Colorado doesn't mean anything.

I feel like I finally found the words to articulate my goalie value rationale.

If the team can get to the playoffs with an average goalie, the goalie is NHL caliber at minimum and can get hot behind a healthy team playing well. If the team needs a goalie whose going to steal them 20+ points to make the post season in the first place, it doesn’t likely matter - the goalie likely can’t elevate their game much higher than it already is, and it’s way harder for an 18 man roster to get hot and suddenly play Cup winning hockey all the way to a championship.

In other words, a top 10 roster with a #25 goalie can reasonably believe in themselves to play their ass off supporting that goalie and the goalie to get hot and have a good chance at winning. A #25 roster with a top 10 goalie is only making rhe playoffs because the goalie masked the fact that they’re the 25th team in the league. The goalie doesn’t have much room to go up and it’s a lot less likely a #25 roster is going to elevate him to get a Cup.
