Borgen/Soucy>>>>>>>Trouba/Lindgren (And at half the price).
Still chance for Schneider/Miller to improve

They're probably better and definatley cheaper but I don't think it really solves the issues this defense had.

It's the same type of players. I know a bunch of people here were clamoring for Mikkola. The problem was never with him as a player, it's that they didn't need that type of player.

Yes, low for a 1D.

32nd in TOI for D this year
26th last year

He's never been used in the type of role like a Doughty, Carlson, Seth Jones, Werenski, Josi have
I'd argue the more we play Fox the less effective he's likely to become. Decreasing returns after 21-22 minutes.

maybe the plan is to dress 8 defensemen? the ultimate "coach is out of ideas" move is to dress 7, maybe Lavi wants to one-up that?

They are better. More mobile and just as physical. Actually its not even close.
Its just not easy to acquire a top pairing dmen to go with Fox.
Hopefully Drury will try over the summer.

This is why as frustrated as I am with the NYR continuing to under index on puck moving ability (which is an understatement) I also can’t say it’s not a step forward from the defense in the POs last year.
I mean, the defense should be better than it was for most of this year, which was worst in the league-ish. Not really saying much.
