In one way it is tough and sad to see Lindgren go and Vesey go (a 2nd time). Both hardworking players. But Lindgren’s play dipped substantially and you simply cannot trust his body holding up. It would have been worse than extending Girardi. Vesey fell out of favor and wasn’t getting the playing time, but the guy is a smart heady player who works hard, plays reliably, and can PK.

The return is very good imo. Have always like de Haan. Steady defenseman. Like adding the Finn as well.

Let’s see what drury does next

The players responsible for the stuff are still here. They have got to go. The insubordination has to be dealt with. They are not management. They don't pick the trainers. They don't pick the players. They don't try to get the GM fired. Their f***ing jobs is playing hockey. That's it. This is not the UN.

nah i think they've moved the right pieces so far

It’s a shame Rangers did not select Matt Boldy instead of Kakko. Boldy is a beast.

It shouldn't be that big of a surprise when you consider that they're 17/18 year olds that are being drafted. What you have then is a snapshot of a player playing against other 16/17/18/19 year olds and a hoped for projection of what they might become a few years down the road.

Take a 18 year old guitar whiz who's clearly better than anyone his age group around him but 5 years later some of his competition has caught up to him--maybe even surpassed him and maybe a couple of them were even complete novices. You can almost expect that that was going to happen and no one at all would be surprised.

Yes but that was some time ago. I think solid middle six is a more likely upside than legit #2C.

Trocheck is an ideal 2C.
Id argue Trocheck is a 3C on a contender. Last year was an outlier

I like Smith as a player, but trading him is an obvious move. He should fetch a decent haul.
if by decent haul you mean at most a late 2nd rounder then sure

Kaliyev gotta show it during practice. Sometimes you gotta make the coach play you by being undeniable

There's no reason Brett Berard can do it and Arthur Kaliyev can't.

American players are preferred by Drury, which is why i don't understand him getting Kaliyev, Parsnipkakko, and Vaaaaaaak. He's gone all in on us players for the most part before this.

I dont get how Rangers management don't see this as a problem. Sad to say Kampf didn't sign and it's not like NYR depth on d is packed. That should say something. I hope Perreault doesn't sign for the sake of his career.

Its not like scouts are always right. Look how many passed on x player and boom they break out over the higher pick.
super early but Kampf is an interesting dark horse on paper -- decent size, rhs
howev, if wasn't gonna sign, dealing was prob smart

thanks for bringing up such an apt parallel
your reward is a little slowhand

How about Smith to the Kings? Pretty sure they need scoring forwards and they have next to no cap space. Looking at their roster do they even have cap dumps to get someone more expensive?
