Staple suggested the Rangers trade Othmann and Kreider for Frederic and Brazaeu a few days ago. A few months ago, Staple suggested Othmann and a first round pick for Mario Ferraro. Brazeau is 27 and was a minor leaguer until this season. Take it easy. Or the Rangers would need to add to a Kreider for Frederic deal.

Staple is an idiot. Is he seriously suggesting that we'd have to pay to dump Kreider?

I recall that when the Rangers acquired Mikkola that he was a 'bad' defenseman. Also, people used to shit on Kulikov if I'm not mistaken.

that's a bad trade for the rangers unless they are getting an unprotected first in 25 or 26 back from Boston. Brazeau is a good player though. Dont care that he's a late bloomer, he is always causing havoc in the crease and can really skate for a big guy. would be a great young replacement for kreider on the 3rd line. Another Cuylle type.

It should be both and just split them up.

Othmann is going to be the type of kid that you need to let marinate a bit. He's going to have flashes where he shows a lot and other times when he is going to lose his man and cause a chance against. He's not 'polished'. In saying hat, the energy and ability to get pucks to the net is going to be a positive long term. He's also a nasty POS.

Staple is awful with his trade proposals but 2 things caught my eye from that article in particular.
1. Seemingly Kreider doesn't have Boston on his NTC, which we all kind of assumed, but thats his most likely destination if he leaves the Rangers. the issue is Boston has no cap space to take him on unless they move a contract (Marchand?) or LTIR someone.

2. Perreault is expected to sign after BC's season is over. I guess our place in the standings will define if he debuts this season or next. Still encouraging that he'll be in the fold going forward.

I really hope we trade Smith and vesey over this break and call up Berard and Othmann. Then work on Lindgren.

Kreider to Boston might make sense, and for frederic. But we would not be adding to get the lesser players. That's silly. Wonder what his ask would be. Frederic and Brazeau for Kreider? Seems light. Brazeau is interesting, but would he be 4th line with Carrick and Ed next year? That would be a good line. But he is about to cash in on what might be an aberration of a season.

I'd do Frederic and a first for kreider, but would rather just trade him for picks.

Old centers, but young wingers to go out there and do the hard work. That could be a fun team and with Perreault in next year, maybe Panarin is out? But likely just plug in Perreault for Kaliyev and be better still.

Come on Drury. Trade Smith and Vesey. Get this shit going.
