You can like Chytil as a player. I love his speed and skillset and honestly he can be dynamic. He carries the puck well through the neutral zone. He has a decent shot.

The issue with Chytil is he is often prone to chicken without a head syndrome defensively. It's not always but it happens from time to time. That's a fair criticism of the player.

I don't think he's a finished product but you do have to wonder with the injuries if he ever will be. Using him at 4.4M as the centerpiece to acquire JT Miller, a bonafide star in the league, is a no brainer. I can't understand not wanting to do that other than (1) you dont want to trade 1sts for anyone, or (2) you are hugging a player you like.

And I am huge Chytil fan. Just trying to be objective.

Cap estimates are $97M for next year per Friedman
Wow! That is a huge boost.

Yeah the contracts are going to be stoopid with so much money to go around and so few good players to spend it on.

Will end up making players like Kreider look like f***ing steals. NYR have to be careful, or they'll end up filling out their roster with 3rd liners they have to give 6m AAV to sign in UFA.

The latter number is dependent on the NHL and NHLPA agreeing to a new CBA. It isn't a done deal, yet.
Right you are. Unless Friedman knows more than Bettman.

MANALAPAN, Fla. -- The NHL salary cap is projected to be $92.4 million next season with the potential of it climbing slightly higher pending a possible negotiation between the League and NHL Players’ Association, NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman said Tuesday.

This season’s salary cap is $88 million.

Bettman, speaking at the end of the two-day NHL Board of Governors meeting at Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa with NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly, also said the League is currently projecting $6.6 billion in revenues for this season.

“The cap under the current guidelines in the Collective Bargaining Agreement would go up 5 percent,” Bettman said Tuesday. “As we look at revenues, we’re going to have discussions with the Players’ Association about escrow levels and whether or not the cap can or should be tweaked a little more on an ongoing basis, but that’s something that we have to really work out with the Players’ Association and we’re having those discussions.”

can we start using borgen like smurfs use smurfs as an all encompassing noun

Genghis Khan needs be added to the list.
The fact that 1 in 200 men that are walking on the face of the earth today can be traced back to him speaks volumes.
Talk about a deadbeat great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather.

kind of a based chad ngl

Tocchet ripped the Canucks players to the media pretty bad today. At this rate JT will be a Ranger for just a 1st round pick

Can't do it. Would be a terrible trade. Even if Top 31 protected, the team just can't afford to trade it. Maybe Vesey, Lindgren, Korczak, McConnell Barker, and Carrick to avoid giving the 1st? I'd hate to lose Carrick but you have to give to get.

I just meandered to the Canucks board and....people are saying if Miller is dealt it has to be for Laf and Schneider. LOL. They also think the Rangers are capped out.

The NYR board is pretty knowledgeable despite the complaining, I'll say that. You guys are always on it to point out when someone misses something or fails to provide context, including myself

Yeah they haven’t been realistic about this since the jump.

JT Miller is a 100 point player. f***ing obviously he's on PP1 LMAO.

You and everyone else underestimate Laviolette.

This is the same guy who could t wait to stuff Lindgren next to Fox even though he was getting killed in bottom pair minutes and looked for an excuse to throw Kreider back into the PP even though what they had been doing while he was out was working.

He has his ideas of what he wants and will go to them no matter how much they don’t work or make sense.

I feel like this is a lot of coaches but just once, can't we get a coach that has good ideas to begin with?

We did play Tarasenko on PP2 but he was never really a PP guy first and foremost anyways
