ITT people objecting to trading 45 cents for a dollar.
If I can't put protection on that dime, it's no deal!

Just play Schneider on the left with FoxI'm going to assume they're asking for a D prospect or eyes on somebody else, as they most likely won't go crawling back to Jones now for a permanent spot.
Lindgren being added makes all the difference in the world. Unloading him is a positive all on its own, much less getting to keep two damn good looking bottom 6 prospects on top of it.
Edit - Curious, where did the Sykora + Chmelar rumors come from?
In the rumor trade scenario, we are still short a Dman unless Jones gets the spot back.Just play Schneider on the left with Fox
What’s the plan? The team that went to ECF twice in 3 prior years should be in the middle of going for it window. For this run if they are able to replace Trouba and Lindgren with better players for their respective positions in the lineup AND add JTM - isn’t it clearly the plan? You can agree or disagree and it surely might not workout but knowing where there were roster holes, addressing them during this timeframe seems to be the plan.
Desharnais has been on the outs there. EF reported a few weeks ago that both parties want to move on.In the rumor trade scenario, we are still short a Dman unless Jones gets the spot back.
Schneider / Fox, Vaak, Borgen, Miller. They have to tuck their tail between their legs and use Jones, or go with Mancini/Ruhwedel (sounds like a Pokemon)
So unless the relationship with Jones can be repaired, my preference would be somebody else.

Canucks just recalled a D. So we'll see how this plays out.Perhaps. Maybe if the issue is just how protected our 1OA is, adding some mid-tier d prospect would enough for us to just make it lottery protected or top5 protected, or something along those lines.
It's amazing how much more palatable this idea is now that the trade looks like this.

Pretty muchAre we at the point where those that want Miller and those that don't want Miller, don't care anymore as long as some change finally happens with this team?

Yeah, I added to my previous post. I feel the same. Going to take the "we are going to look for the best deal for Miller and for us" and the "we aren't in a rush" as they plan to continuing trying to win games.Allvin calling a conference tells me there is an injury and no trade coming. GMs never call conferences before a trade is announced.
Friedman just went on tv here and said the trade is going to happen and JT's preference is eastern united states. Mentioned Rangers, Canes and Islanders.Allvin calling a conference tells me there is an injury and no trade coming. GMs never call conferences before a trade is announced.
Sure. Let's compare just this years stats.
Miller has 31 points in 35 games.
Fil has 18 in 37.
We can do this all day. I'm still not sure in what universe Miller "isn't much better".
Right, realistically Miller got about 2 more years tops of being an above average to good player. Is that our window? This team's window for contention has closed shut with Kreider and Mika's decline, so it probably is pointless to get Miller.I’m super conflicted about Miller. I would love to build the identity of the forward corps around players with attitude like he and Trocheck, but their ages are definitely problematic.
I am happy that all of these rumors include Lindgren. It means that Drury has properly diagnosed the problems on D. This and the Trouba move happened months too late but better late than never.
Gotta get creative with peripheral moves to restock the cupboard and build around the new identity of Miller comes in.
I’m telling you from front office perspective. It was surely the plan this offseason. The teams struggles were locker room related for probably at least 75% of it. Can it be fixed? Can on ice performance rebound? It’s not unreasonable. Management plans take adjustments along the way but the plans are laid out well beyond 2 months window we just watched. Even if you’d put this level of performance for the whole time since after their hot start and they are probably in the midst of it with Caps, Canes etc. And there’s still plenty of room to potentially improve “internally” before considering the impact of external additions. Was that the plan a month ago? Regardless seems like a highly questionable plan.
