Skjei is scratched because has sucked all year and it came to a breaking point last game
He earned it after that game against the Isles. I think this is just the timing of the Brooks article making it seem like more than it is.
Eh, I think a lot of it is overreaction with Skjei. People hated him last year, but he was low-key one of their most underrated dman. He’s still a long-term core piece, IMO.I think the interesting thing about that article was what was being said about Skjei. There was a point where I could see him being untouchable, but I think that time has passed.

Really? Where? Hajek has had his moments, but isn’t ready for the NHL, Lindgren isn’t anything special, Rykov is in Russia, and K’Andre is a freshman and won’t be NHL ready for another 3 years. Then they have O’Gara and Bigras as insurance.I don’t feel that way. Too much depth in the organization on LD. I’m not rushing to deal him, but, he’s not off limits.

Look, I’d trade Skjei in the right deal, but I had this same argument with Ola in the offseason. We added a lot of bodies at LD this offseason, but I still think it’s a really weak position in our organization.
I don’t think Skjei is here long-term...just a feeling I’ve had for a while now.
If it’s as a means to get another quality piece, then sure. However, like I said before, the LD depth is going to suffer badly without him.I don’t think Skjei is here long-term...just a feeling I’ve had for a while now.

Excluding Miller, I think you’re being overly optimistic tbh. I’m honestly only confident in Hajek to hit that level, maybe Rykov. None of that says trade Skjei to me.We are going to end up with a bunch of 2nd-pairing Dmen, unless Miller fully develops.
Kreider is having himself a season right now. 11 goals 18 points in 20 games. Will it last? Most likely not. But with the points he's putting up right now I'm not trading him unless we really score big on the deal. His contract status is a plus as well. For certain not adding him to Skjei to get Nylander. Kreider playing with Tavares would be a coup for the Leafs.

Keane.
Hayes for Trouba #ChangeMyMindBeen saying it and I’ll say it again, one of Hayes / Zucc for a defensive ready prospect the Rangers have been secretly coveting.
We were talking about LD in that string of convo. By the way, you’re talking to the guy that said Keane would be a solid overage pick in the last draft. I saw a decent amount of him when I was trying to watch SvechnikovKeane.
