You can't be serious about the obliviousness of this can you?
Are u insinuating that drury should fire a coach bc he doesnt play a single player? Thats not how u manage your staff.

No coach would want a gm who demands to have lineup say for gameday.

I like jones, and he should be playing over lindgren.

But no gm would say to a coach, play x player and bench x player or your fired.

Thats not how things work.

A gm should trust his coach and let him set the lineup. You might have discussions afterwards but you dont want to undercut your coach. Especially about. A bottom pairing dman.

No - I am insinuating that if you don't think a coach is doing a good job then logic dictates you have to also think the GM isn't doing a good job.

You can split hairs all you want, but the bottom line is that it's the GM's literal responsibility to hire a coach that maximizes the potential of the roster. If the coach is not doing that then the GM has failed in that specific task and it's his sole responsibility to replace the coach with someone who does.

Saying Goodrow and Trouba have been "awful," "haven't played well for years," and thus their "intangibles mean even less" is all fine a and well, but...

Look at how the team has been playing since they've been removed.

Of course Sherterkin is all world, but this exact same team was a few goals away from the finals, and months later they might be picking top 5. Seems to me you might have well run it back with the "overpaid" Goodrow and Trouba, because sure looks like they were more valuable on the team than off of it.

And the fact that Drury hasn't used their cap space money to improve the team makes it even mor emind-boggling.
So you believe removing their miserable play is the reason this team continues to play badly… as I said it’s obvious that you haven’t followed this team. And that’s fine. I don’t follow any other team as closely as I follow this one. But you also won’t catch me arguing on other teams boards because obviously those fans know a lot more about their team than I do…

For those keeping score this season:

Trouba traded for nothing
Kakko traded for nothing
Chytil +2 concussions
Kreider broken back
Igor back breaking extension
Jones about to be traded for nothing

:surrender
Your definition of nothing is weird

Trouba was traded for cap space and we even got a pick and meh player, when he was widely perceived as negative value. It is a lot of cap space.

Kakko got a 3rd* + a player valued at another 2nd (or more according to some beat writers)

On Chytil--Sometimes with concussion prone players it doesn't take much. They might come back play a bunch of games take all the knocks like they should and then a month or two down the road they get a little bump and they're out again. Hopefully it's not that though. If it's a concussion from a small bump he'll probably need to sit for a year or so if he's going to have any chance of making it into his 30's and even a long rest won't be a guarantee of that. Better than a concussion would be a sprained shoulder, abdominal tear or a broken rib. Just saying.

On Jones--whether or not he should be playing this guy is not going to be a real difference maker in the short term or the long run. I've got no problem moving on from him. The Rangers need to rebuild a defense and that rebuild is going to be mostly on the left side though Miller might stick around. I know he's been shit this season (and tonight) but still..........for now he's our most workable left side defenseman not named Fortescue.

What happened to Chytil?

Like what actually happened?
His last shift came with about 4 min left in the 2nd. It was the shift that ended with Quick's helmet coming off and a TV time out (and the Joe talking about Borgen's broken stick).
In that shift Chytil had very minor contact with 2 Stars players, but nothing that looked like it could cause any issues. He also seemed to be moving up and down the ice just fine

You would have look through the whole game to figure out what happened, probably happened earlier. And if we are talking about a concussion, it could be a very small bump considering his history.

the only thing that stands out to me is 2 shifts before his last, when he gets sandwiched between a Stars player and an official behind the Dallas net (around 10:35 left in the 2nd). It looks like very minor contact, but it is two bumps in rapid succession
