If we see a ton of cap clearing deals I'm going to start wondering if that is the teams plan. I would be okay with that.

$30 per month. October to April. Only the first round of the NHL playoffs will be on MSG. That will not be an issue this season. ESPN and TNT don't black out the NBA playoff games if the games are on MSG. 1st/2nd round round are on the RSN's in the NBA.

Altice/Optimum is hemorrhaging subscribers every year. Video and broadband.

Dolan and the Yankees/Nets probably want people to purchase the app and pay them directly instead of going through Infinity or Optimum. I read Optimum was paying MSG $10 for every sub. They want more now.

The RSN model is over. Streaming is the new marketplace. The Gotham app has a one minute delay. MSG+ didn't have the one minute delay. Fix it.

I'll post this in the tv thread as well. For this year I say do nothing. They're both gonna hurt hard for the next 30-60 days and it'll probably be fixed by a compromise. Otherwise take it into the summer.

This impacts 1/3 of all NY Metro area subscribers. MSG thinks everyone is gonna buy their bullshit APP? Optimum thinks everyone is going to hang around? Good luck with that.

I didn't even know this was happening. I got a text from Optimum this morning about it. Such bullshit.

Will games on the MSG app still be blacked out on ESPN+? I'm guessing they will.

I'm officially done with Optimum. f*** them. As soon as the WJC is over, I'm getting rid of it. And f*** MSG too. I'm not paying for the app. If they want to f*** around, they will find out how many people will stop giving them money to watch this shitty team.

Very petty doing this on New Year's Day. Both sides may never recover. There's 3.5 months left of this season with that dumb Four Nations stoppage in about six weeks. If they don't compromise in time for Sam Rosen's last game I will be shocked.
