if we get a top 4 pick and don’t get one of Schaefer, Martone or Misa….

I wouldn’t mind Frederic but some team will overpay him. We can’t afford another overpaid bottom 6 player
My hypothesis is that the Rangers finish around 5-8 and one team wins the lottery and bumps them to the 9-10 range. If they got a top four even better and those are the guys.

Frederic would be used as a shutdown third line center and get prime minutes. Let the Trochek line run wild. I'd have Frederic/Carick as the bottom two and begin to work Laba in as a third liner.

I love Chytil but he's been 2002-03 Lindros careful since he's been back. That's not gonna fly and I'd look to deal him this summer.

I hope Drury trades a bunch for JT so that when it inevitably blows up in his face, he gets fired.

And then the team can start over properly
Thing is, even after the implosion and firing, it's still highly unlikely the team will start over properly. They will continue to look for magic saviours rather than build an organization that finds & develops quality NHL players.

There's a good chance a lot of these Drury picks become good NHLers.

Not obsession.

The most unsolvable issue in the current roster is Zibanejad. Vancouver seems to have a somewhat similar issue with JTM and all sides might possibly be open to try a swap.

Most likely it’s a pipe dream
Ziba ain't gonna waive.

He should call up Brad Richards on how the later trained the summer of 2013 and use that info.

Fox is another one who better up his training this summer.

Miller was good here. While he blossomed elsewhere his playmaking while here was very good. He routinely made excellent passes as a youngster. No reason to think he wouldn't continue his current star production here (other than our team being cursed). You want Mika gone you do the dirtiest of deeds in trading his buddy. Let Drury take all the hits with the pissed off locker room. Then you fire Drury, problem solved.

Boston likes Chytil. They wanted him for DeBrusk in the past. Id be willing to deal Chytil for Frederic and then talk extension. I love Filip but this Ranger team is not in position to be able to take on the risk that comes with his injury and role in the lineup.

If we're going to make moves now we'd be better going younger every time for roster players, prospects and picks. If we're talking picks and the 25 draft isn't deep enough aim more for 26. I think the Rangers are going to have plenty of cap space come July when free agency opens. That's when I think they should look more towards adding vets. If Marner and/or a Rantanen are available just one of them would be a huge pickup.

We also might see some guys from the farm pushing more---Othmann, Berard, Sykora, Mancini, Garand, Chmelar could all put themselves in the picture next season and if Laba signs he can too. Perreault I could see making the Rangers from the get go and ELC contracts make it much easier to manage a cap.

I would avoid Frederic on price alone. He's going to get Ross Colton (4M AAV) money but I get the feeling he'll end up playing closer to a Tanner Jeannot. He'd be great if you could get him signed long term to a low $2.125M AAV

What do his fancy stats look like? He takes more penalties than he draws. Hits A LOT. 50/48 corsi/fenwick. Negative on-ice xG differential. 45% FOW% Besides hitting, he's not really hitting the metrics I'd look for.

How about trading Schneider + for something young and useful then signing Ekblad as a UFA?

What do Ekblad’s stat charts look like?

Agreed again. You also can't rely on Edstrom, Cylle, Berard, Othmann, Rempe types to be the teams muscle when they are still trying to get their NHL careers jumpstarted. You need veterans to back them up. Every team has them. But when they are suggested here, the pitchforks come out.

No one has to fight Tkachuk's battles for him. No one has to even fight Barkov's battles for him. It's a mindset and the rangers have had a piss poor one for a long time now.

Don't "high and mighty" me when you are leading the charge to get Fox out of town lol. Id be talking about Tkachuk the way I talk about Miller if he was in anyway attainable. The team needs more assholes.
For the last three seasons, it's all JT Miller. He is not changing the Rangers fortunes. JT will be 32 years old in March. He is signed until 2030 with an $8M cap hit. Where is the future with Miller? Keeping the mediocrity in place.

I would like to see the Rangers conduct a clear out. Get rid of basically everyone except for less than a handful of players. These players sabotaged their own season by being fixated about how the Rangers handled Goodrow and Trouba. It's time to go. Too many egos. Too many protection clauses. I think they realize that now but the Rangers have been hit by an avalanche and their season is spiraling down the mountain.

Fox worries me. His NMC kicks in July and the Rangers will be stuck with him for the next four seasons. People say he needs a reliable partner and they mention every fancy stat number in support of Fox. He needs a partner like Buekeboom. Really? If all of these numbers were available in the 1990's. Beukeboom would grade out as less than a replacement player. He wasn't a top D in Edmonton. He was a bottom pair D. #4 at best when Edmonton started clearing the decks. He wasn't a top pair D. He could barely skate. He would barely pass the puck. He had zero offensive game. He allowed Leetch to lead the rush and join the rush. Fox is not capable of that. He is good with the puck in the offensive zone. He is very good on the PP. Very smart. That's it. I just believe the Rangers need more from a $9.5M defenseman.

Fox needs a better D group around him like TB had. How are the Rangers acquiring all of those players? Fox's contract will be over by the time the Rangers find their Sergachev or Hedman or even Cernak. He should elevate the other D and not need three other D to help him out.

Avery was plastered all over my instagram feed yesterday because of chiclets. I nearly rolled my eyes through the ceiling.
That podcast is annoying. Bissonette is annoying. He got beat up in a bar in Arizona. My initial reaction it's about time. Whitney is OK. Avery is a frequent guest. Avery is meeting with Dolan about becoming GM. Stupid stuff. Brooks socialized with Avery when he played for the Rangers. What was Larry thinking?
