Henrik Lundqvist: ”Jag vet inte om jag blir kvar i Rangers”
Wonder if this means he'd accept a trade to a cup contender? Have to think there would be a team willing to take a chance on it.
I would be shocked if it is not at least 7 years at $11m perI’m going to be very surprised if Panarin takes less than $10 million per no matter where he signs.
Which cup contender doesn't have good to great goaltending? If they already have that why would they gamble on a 38 year old who arguably is declining and has a pretty big $8.5 mil cap hit? Take Tampa for instance--is he going to displace Vasilevskiy? or Rask in Boston? Holtby in Washington? Maybe I guess San Jose or Calgary but they might not have the cap space let alone the inclination to take on a 38 year old.
Henrik's probably been talking to Zucc though so I'm not surprised at all because Zucc probably told him 'hey, it's not as bad as you think playing in another city for a team that's actually good right now'.
But anyway I think it might be too late. I also think if it did happen--don't be surprised if the return doesn't look very good--the acquiring might already think they're risking too much as it is. IMO if we got a late 1st we'd be doing really well.
So I guess this week's implausible what-if obsession will be on Lundqvist
Exactly. We've suffered and come this far... why do anything but stay the course? My preference would be to continue to tear it down and get lafreniere or byfield or whatnot and then build it from that point.
1 more year of sucking really seems like the ideal way to do this.
Nobody is taking Hanks contract nobody. I’m really hoping he retires after this season.
Always thought S Florida would be a good fit for Hank, however the 40 yr old Luongo has 3 seasons remaining on his deal.

I think that people are seriously underestimating what it means to Henke to retire as a Ranger, having played his entire career here. He has a young child, loves being in NY.....not really seeing him suddenly change his mind.Such as?
Age tends to do things to your body that has nothing to do with how much wear and tear you have.Based on his younger NHL legs, in fact younger Hockey legs, that Panarin has at least 5-6 years of productive hockey left.

Bobrovsky is going to Florida.
