Haley is on a two-way deal and will never play.

A month later, Haley dressing in his 8th out of 13 games.

What the hell is Quinn doing? Seriously? I mean Staal should never see the ice again, but if you're gonna play him (for whatever reason), why don't you sit Hajek, who had a crap game?

And I really don't know what Quinn has against Lias. It's really odd.
I am a DQ fan but this is just puzzling.

Why sit Lindgren who has been very good? Why sit Lias?

Why the f*** does Howden keep getting minutes when he has been atrocious?? Howden was awful last game.

Hajek could use a game off. I mean there is no reason for Staal to get back in but if he must then sit Hajek. Heck sit Skjei who has been meh.

Lias cant catch a break with this coach.

I hope Staal is a -2 by the end of the 1st period. Staal should never see the ice unless the defense has more than one injury. such a stupid move. keeping Haley in for Andersson makes no sense.

I bet he gets traded for Pool Party
That would be an awful job. They would be selling extremely low on Lias. His game is improving. He should be getting 3rd line minutes and tonight he is scratched. But at least he is here as opposed to Puljujarvi playing overseas.

If this is how Andersson is going to be handled I would move him and hope he flourishes elsewhere. He deserves it and if we can package him we may be able to get a valuable asset back. No interest in Pool party. I don’t think he’s going to be an NHL player, honestly.

I feel like he thinks Kakko is playing good with Howden and he doesn't want to mess that up. I don't get McKegg but anyone thinking he wasn't going to get Staal back in the lineup is nuts. I'm hoping this is Staals last shot to prove to Quinn he deserves to stay in the lineup.

The Andersson thing is either an indictment on the coaching staff or the people who made the pick. They're not doing a good job developing him unless he just isn't very good, in which case the Rangers overdrafted him despite the consensus being lower on him. I'm not ready to write him off but why is his development not being handled the same way Chytil's is? Send him down to the AHL if you're not going to play him good minutes with decent linemates.

Quinn is right. Andersson was terrible on Monday and Howden has been outplaying him as of late. But where is the benching for Brendan Smith and Haley whom have basically done jack all?

i hope not. rather include Andersson in a Kreider trade. Pool Party is awful

At this point, both Andersson and Pool Party need a change of scenery. They are both mismanaged assets and are likely pretty darn equal in value at this point. I would expect both to thrive in new systems with new leadership/coaches.

Just back from Mexico and I’m watching this game now. Half way thru I was going to write don’t be surprised if Andersson is benched for Detroit game. That’s how bad he was against Ottawa. You want a meritocracy can’t whine when your fav guy sits after a night like that.

Lindgren should not however be sitting. Hajek had a tough night as did skjei. But my guess more is that Staal is the 6th or 7th dman and sitting one of those two means he has to play in the top 4. Not happening.

I can’t believe we lost that game after the way we played the first 15 mins. Georgiev caused a lot of the problems. He really struggled holding on to pucks right around his crease. Led to extra chances and garbage goals. Lousy night for him

If the decision is based on one game, why wasn't Howden scratched when he had 1 bad game? Or Haley. Or Smith. Or Kakko. Or Buchnevich, or Strome. They all had "1 bad game".

I like Howden, but Jesus Christ. This is Vesey under AV all over again.

About Lindgren... What the f*** can we say? It makes 0 sense. Quinn was just waiting for a loss so he could put Staal back in. That's all.

I proposed this on the main board:

Lias and Ryan Gropp for Pool Party, Joe Gambardella and a second rounder

Guessing they have given up on him being a top six player so they probably see it as why bother giving him top minutes in the AHL?

It’s not like he’s on a great team here, he’s on one of the shittiest teams in the NHL, and can’t get off the 4th line.

Not for nothing, but the reason the Rangers lost the last game could have been mitigated by having additional veteran presence to help get out of the rattled state they got themselves into. They lacked that emotional steadiness, so it's understandable that the coach wants to bring veterans back into the lineup in an attempt to provide it. It doesn't mean this is a permanent switch. We'll see.

I'll also say... this getting upset or applauding the coach for every single little move he makes is more than absurd. And yes, these are little moves.

This is why I've been saying for a couple weeks that Andersson should be moved. Not because I want him moved, but because the organization doesn't seem high on him, and IMO isn't doing much to help him flourish. Yes, he was bad the other night; every young player on the team outside of maybe Lindgren has had at least a couple bad games, and generally don't get stapled to the bench right after. They don't seem to like Lias.

I think he's more valuable in a package with an NHL player (like Kreider or Strome or something) than on his own. Who knows. The situation sucks, though.

DQ said he doesn’t like sitting Lindgren. He’ll be back ASAP.

Andersson is just a shitty situation overall. I wouldn’t mind trading him for Pulju.

One knock against Lias at the draft was that people thought he was a 3rd line guy with not much top 6 upside. And the way things are going, it seems those people may have been right. The question then is why our scouts and front office were not able to see that.

I mean, Fogarty and Nieves are not regular NHL players and they get top minutes. So does Lettieri. And other guys like O'Regan. Why not give those minutes to someone who a) could actually have an NHL future and b) has demonstrated he can be productive in the AHL?

There's no reason to keep a kid who is barely of drinking age playing 7 minutes per night or on the bench. Hartford is there for developmental purposes--go develop Lias.

...or f***ing move him.

I dont get why it's always this guy vs that guy on this forum, first it was Pionk and DeAngelo and now its Howden and Andersson. I get it, Andersson was picked higher, but Howden has been solid. Andersson has been fine but he hasnt been better than Howden. I dont agree with sitting Andersson but maybe they want him to watch a game and see where he is supposed to be in this system. Coaches do it with young players from time to time. Also, I don't think Quinn hates Andersson, I think he knows he can be much better and it trying to get that out of him, much like they did with Chytil and Buchnevich

How can Lias be much better when the little ice time he sees is on the Penalty Kill and with Brendan Smith and Micheal Haley?
