Better fact check this....since im the one “overreacting”...fact check this because ive never complained once about a win screwing up the tank. Not once.

Secondly, Skjei has sucked, and he has sucked for awhile. Stop blaming it on “AVs horrid system”. Were almost a quarter of the way into the season under Quinn. They gave this kid good money. His issues go way beyond a “systems issue”. He is dumb. Plain and simple. He makes terrible reads, bad pinches, positioning is crap, and just makes braindead plays with the puck on his stick. On the first goal he was covering space. Lost. In the 2nd period puck came to him at the point, had some space and took the classic mcdonagh water pistol wrister that easily got blocked and went the other way for a scoring chance. In 3rd, well, we also saw that lovely pass he made which ended up being the real difference in the game. He stinks. Bench him. Get Smith back in. This kid doesnt battle hard enough. He plays like his spot is guaranteed. Complacent. You see guys like Pionk and ADA working every shift. Its just going through the motions for Skjei.

Stop with the excuses for the kid. He fooled us in the short stint when he first came up. He isnt as good as we thought or hoped.

Maybe he's not as good as you thought or hoped for, but he is without question a good, young quality player.

He's still just a 24 year old in his third season. You make it sound like he's been here for 7 years and is some grizzled vet. All you do is whine and cry every GDT about Skjei, even when he's not as fault.

We get it, he's your scapegoat. And I do see him battling hard and working. I think you hate the kid so much you're just seeing **** now.

What's a sniper? Is Panarin a sniper? How about Crosby? I'm good with the type of guys the Rangers have been keying in on. Guys who have high hockey IQ and good all-around skill-sets.
Raises hand.........Ovechkin!

Seriously though, I agree with you. Good IQ & good motors will go a long way for who is coming into the organization.

Never thought I'd say it, but I think that the play of Brett Howden is what is making Hayes expendable. He looks very comfortable in the 3C/ checking center role. Chytil has looked good with more ice time, who would have thought that? Just need to get Andersson out of 4th line purgatory with McLeod and Lettieri.

Spooner has no place on this team. He should be dealt.

Zuccarello and Hayes should go to the highest bidders. Once Hayes is dealt, there's the ice time for Andersson.

I have a feeling that is how the glut down center is handled. Hayes being traded. But again, if he is to be moved then it should be done as soon as possible to a middle of the road team looking to get help down center.

If Gorton got a good offer I think he would have dealt Hayes already. The offers around this time of year either don't exist or are crap. American Thanksgiving is when things start to shake loose and GM's have a better idea of what they have.

The Kings plummeting to the basement is what has surprised me the most. They'll be in line for a top 5 pick at this rate. It sucks because Dach and Cozens are such prototypical big, skilled power forward types that will fit right into their heavy game, and they'll be ripe and for the picking for the Kings at this rate.

I think Pittsburgh and Devils bounce back in the Metro. The division is so close right now. Pittsburgh will make the playoffs and the Devils will secure the last spot or just miss out. Think Florida bounces back a little bit but finishes just out of the playoffs again this year. How long before they make a big move? Their current core isn't getting it done.

I'm surprised by how well Minnesota has played so far. Thought they would drop off this year. Think Chicago and St. Louis play well but miss the playoffs. That division is just so good this year.

The Pacific on the other hand is just shite this year. Anyone's game there. The Central will take 5 playoff spots. The 3 teams that win spots in the Pacific will just eek in. Think Anaheim, Calgary, and SJ get in from there.

i think ice time remains an issue until they decided which one is going to play wing. when hayes gets dealt, i see chytil moving back to center which leaves anderson on the 4th line unless he moves to wing

It just seems like there’s a lot of mediocrity in the league right now.

Gorton said when Hayes signed a 1 yr deal their goal is to extend him.

You need to relax on this trade hysteria. Very little may actually happen, they like the players they have.

Wow. Lmao. Whine and cry? He is completely at fault for his mistakes. They are on him and no one else. Stop with damn excuses for him. 24 years old. When will it click in for him? Next season at 25? How about the one after that? He was paid handsomely and has been crap

Anyone else concerned that Hajek and Lindgren have a combined 3 points in 17/14 GP? Or that Day is now in the ECHL?

Hajek, kinda.

Lindgren, no.

Day, no. He was put down in the ECHL because there is literally too many D in Hartford. He's tearing up the ECHL, so it's fine.

and john tavares publicly stated he wanted to remain an islander.

these things are said to the media bc you have to. Its lip service. it isnt representative of the truth. Of course the rangers want to keep him and of course KH wants to stay. A lot of money and a long term deal ( what KH wants ) and what the rangers want to pay him ( not a ton of money ) and the number of years they want to give him ( probably less than what KH wants ) is what makes him leave.

Hajek a little, Lindgren not much.

But the Pack do tend to keep their younger defensemen on tighter leashes offensively and that is usually reflected on the stat sheet.

Even Pionk and ADA, to guys on roughly 45-50 point paces at the NHL level, often did blow anyone away offensively with the Pack.

Not even a little bit. Racking up assists is just not Lindgren's game. Maybe a tiny bit for Hajek, but he is still young and learning.

A sniper, is a player who stands out for his superior shot (accuracy more importantly) and who is simply a reliable finisher.

Panarin stat wise is a playmaker, he's got a good shot and he's a PPG player. Would I call him a sniper? No.

Crosby is simply elite, crème de la crème. He's all in one. He could easily win a Rocket (without OV in the mix), but alas he's a playmaker, he thinks and plays the game like that.

Think Neal, Laine, Kane (Patrick), excluding the elite (Malkin, Ovi) here.

I highly doubt we'll get any closer to elite than Kravtsov and he's not a sniper. Get him a sniper will ya?

Do they really need one though?

Unequivocally, yes.

Dude the last 3 players that cracked 30 goals on this team were Nash (sniper/PWF), Gaborik twice (sniper/glass) and Jagr (elite). That's the last 12 years or so ...

We gotten far, on a gritty-ass system and Hank bailing the f*** out. Ultimately what cost us in those runs?!

That's right, we didn't score goals. Either our designated snipers (in this case Nash) busted hard and just didn't deliver or we simply didn't even have any snipers to begin with.

You guys remember the 50 shots per game days? Were 45 of the shots went right into the chest of the goalie?

I'm really starting to wonder what management does with Hayes. He's stepping up huge this year. His trade value is rising but also makes you think mgmt may consider keeping him.

I'm starting to hop on the badnwagon of giving him a $6M * 6Y contract... I think he'll be worth it.

Put Chytil on Wing, let Andersson take the center position--He has the IQ to do it. His ultimate ceiling is a Toews lite, so let him anchor that 3rd line Glut of Center depth is becoming an actual reality, there's a ton of depth there for injury and cold streaks of the rest of the team

Quote please? And even if he did say that, I'd interpret it as lip service. I don't foresee a scenario where Hayes is actually worth what he'll receive as an UFA. The Rangers need to cut bait and get as much of a return as they can as soon as possible.

If you’re going to argue the path to success in the playoffs is having a sniper or not, I’ll fight you to the end on that. I think they’re one of the most overrated types of players in regard to team building, a luxury, not a necessity.

Look at Lindgren's production in the NCAA--I wasn't expecting him to put up many more points than this. He is almost purely a defensive D. Hajek is another story.
