Trading a rental within the division is the best way to go when you're rebuilding. Taking away future assets and prospects from divisional rivals is a win-win.
Attempting to remove my bias, I’m looking at it like ADA and Shattenkirk probably won’t be here by the time Addison will be ready to get some NHL gamesAddison and a 1 would be a massive win but I wonder if they really want to add another pure offensive RHD. I don’t have a problem with it, but I wonder if the FO would target someone else
Why do we want Addison instead of a blue chip wing prospect from another team?
It depends on what you think is a blue chip prospect. He's definitely not getting us a Krastov type prospect, but a Howden type prospect I can see. Nobody gets blue chip prospects anymore, even the EK trade couldnt get one.As much as I’d love a blue chip wing prospect for Zucc, he ain’t bringing one back
Hayes will actually finish with that amount though. 50 points is a lot for a rookie.I think hayes is playing well but hes still on pace for his usual 50 points. I mean to put it in perspective Howden is 1 point behind.
Yeah, I'll take another HowdenAs much as I’d love a blue chip wing prospect for Zucc, he ain’t bringing one back

Hayes is good defensively but it's not like we are looking at Bergeron or Kopitar. I think we are getting a little carried away with his defensive abilities, he's good but I wouldnt be overly enthused to see him matching up against McDavid or Crosby. So basically we are looking at a average point producer and a good shut down guy, like a Kadri maybe, though I'd take Kadri over Hayes. I'm just trying to be realistic about it, I dont think we are getting the kind of return we got from Tampa for him,as i said before theres likely a lot of teams that would take him as a rental, but I think a lot of those would balk at giving him 6+ mill next year because hes a 3rd liner on a good team, much like I believe he will be in new york in 2 years. The one spot I do believe he could fit is Winnipeg though. But that's just my opinion.
Fowler out for a but and Lebrun says they were shopping for a D already. We should really look to get lighter by one on defense here.

Eh, Smith has been pretty bad. I doubt that's gone unnoticed by teams scouting us.Smith. 50% retained
Yeah, not seeing how the Rangers can help the Ducks, unless Skej is the trade. Staal is not tradeable and neither really is Smith.Who? And don't say Staal.
Or Shattenkirk for that matter.Yeah, not seeing how the Rangers can help the Ducks, unless Skej is the trade. Staal is not tradeable and neither really is Smith.
M. Stall or M. Stahl. I've heard those guys aren't as bad.Who? And don't say Staal.
