All the top "insiders" were saying teams were very ready to give Igor 13-14 million. Friedman and Brooks specifically. Lafreniere left money on the table to sign now, instead of betting on himself. he was playing as well as he was in the playoffs until the locker room turmoil started. Im not going to blame him alone for his poor play since. And your point was "no one wants to come here" which is completely negated by 2 homegrown guys signing on for 7 & 8 more years respectively. Not exactly dying to leave town.
And isnt that the whole complaint among the veterans who are upset? They don't want to leave NY because their cushy lives will be upended? Among the issues with the team, the thought of players not wanting to come here is at the bottom.
