The fact that the GM just signed a 29 year old goalie to a market resetting 8 year contract that hasn’t even kicked in yet is just the complete chef’s kiss
You 1000% trade it, let the hockey media write their think pieces, take the hits in the media which again no one actually cares about, and by this time next year literally no one cares.

As a side note, you have to fire Drury after since no one will deal with him. Oh darn.

Honestly, Shesterkin’s probably more valuable with the extension… except he needs to show some consistency.

Personally, I want to trade Shesterkin, Fox and Panarin and it has nothing to do with the quality of players they are and everything to do with wanting to genuinely rebuild, and they each will genuinely garner a truly great return. Of course I also want Kreider, Zib, Vesey, Smith, Lindgren and frankly, there isn’t anyone else on the roster that I wouldn’t be willing to move - be it a decent offer that comes across the table, or as a +/- in a trade of someone else. Like if it were Fox + Chytil or Panarin @50% + Miller. Whatever. There’s absolutely not a single player who is still a core building block at this stage.

The Rangers need a full 100% reset. Not even just a rebuild. New coach and staff, new roster, new GM. The only things we should keep are the jerseys and arena. Genuinely.

Yeah, this is a crime scene right now. I would not be surprised if Lavi does not make it to New Year’s Day.

Jt. Miller for Trocheck and Schneider. Say "Yes".

Jt. Miller Panarin and Lafen om a line would dominate. Jt and Panarin would both end up over 100 pts easily.
NO
1, unless zib going which is NOT happening, not interested in JT
2 Schneider = too hard to replace
3 Tro I would consider moving for top $

pls focus on moving deadwood, like I said

Also why trade shesty at this point. Keep him as part of the rebuild. We are bad enough it won’t matter
b'c if properly dealt he brings a haul, + Garand is real + around the corner
but it doesn't work in reverse
Garand is not established, so most likely we would not get a top return for him

Unless you can get Brady T. JT Miller solves a ton of our issues. The team needs a lightning rod to follow. Miller doesn't feel wanted in Vancouver. Trade whatever you need to get him. We are talentless so why should anyone care. He's a 100 point player.
It is adding age.
He's a nice add, and at present appears to be worth the risk [he won't wig out like zib]
BUT
he is too old to be a foundation piece
listen to bern
build w/youth

Very strong agree, except for the bold; Schneider, Chytil, and Cuylle are keepers.
LaF is barring overpay
To a lesser extent also Edstrom and Rempe

I genuinely feel like there’s no hope in being a fan of this team and it sucks. I was so excited when we drafted Kakko and lafreniere, but we’ve seen Dolan has no patience for a rebuild so there’s no hope in another one happening.
Then we trade Kakko for literally nothing because there was no space and now it seems the guys who were blocking his ice time are on their way out, so now what? Wouldn’t be surprised if drury trades Perrault for some aging rental to try to salvage this season to keep his job.

They actually looked good to start the season and then they hit a little rough patch which is totally normal but when the trade rumors started to come out the team quit on Drury.

So you either fire Drury FAST or else he's gonna blow the whole shit up and we might not be a playoff team for a while which is just absolutely crazy to me.

I think Mollie, Larry, and Boyler pointed out that even though they had a good start, they were playing a really easy schedule. In those first 9 games, 6 were against non-playoff teams (going 5-1). They were 1-2 vs the other three (WSH, WPG, VAN). And we really struggled to get the last three wins vs VAN, SEA, SJ. The signs were starting to show then. The lack of fight in those games was foretelling the 4-13 run we are on now.

It's reminding me of how the Devils went from #3 in the league in 2023-23 to bottom 10 in 2023-24. They had a helluva offseason, starting with getting a healthy Dougie Hamilton back, getting Noesen back who has exceeded expectations. Big trade for Markstrom. Big signings in Dillon and Pesce. Plus having two #1OA centers in the system is an anchor we've never had before. Plus a new coach. They orchestrated quite a turnaround. If Drury can figure out more ways to snake out of all the NMCs, he can give himself a chance to right the ship. I'm perhaps not so optimistic though. Like if we can flip Ziba for JT Miller and sign Sam Bennett, that would be a major face lift for this org. Those 2 + Trocheck gives us a really lunch pail identity down the middle that we have not seen in ages. Draft lottery could also alter our fortunes greatly.

Their second contention window was when *this* happened but Kakko, Laf, Chytil, Miller, and Schneider all stepped up into top roles on the club.

None of that happened. It's over.
You have to say that Ziba, Panarin, and Fox (injured) did not step up either.

You know the defending cup champions lost 6 out of 7 games at one point to this season and they didn't feel the need to blow up the roster.

That’s why some of those guys have been traded or will be

It's not just numbers. It's how they showed up in those games. When you look back at those losses too, 2 vs WPG (#1 in league right now), 2 vs NJ (#2 in the league right now, 1 vs WSH (#3 in the league right now), 1 vs COL (#11), 1 vs CHI (#31) so really, one bad loss they should have really won. The others they lost to good teams. Plus, they are cup champions. They can draw on that winner's mentality to find that swagger. They have a good coach.

We've got a coach who thinks not scratching Ziba seems sensible. Some one get Einstein to say something about insanity.

lol, youve described a 5 year cycle. Ive been a fan since about 1981, so multiply all that by 8-9 times and you’ll come to appreciate being a NYR fan, strap in for the long haul.

I legitimately don’t know what this team is gonna do. I can’t f***ing believe Drury have Igor that contract.

I need to just start being a fan of managers I like. It’s infuriating to watch this team make the same mistakes over and over again.
Dumbest thing he has done. Imagine if Dolan fired him? What a clownshow.
