Stage one is what most of us want, with the added wishlist of finding a way to say goodbye to zibanejad somehow.

I think all things considered Panarin and Trocheck stay, otherwise you’re in a full scale rebuild, which would surprise me and I don’t think is the right call.
Its what i want as well.

I didn't list zib bc i dont see how its possible to get rid of him haha. If we retained 50% would there be interest?

I am curious about something. What do people think/believe Chris Kreider is worth on the trade market? Kreider will be 34 years old in April. Two more seasons remaining on the contract. $6.5M cap hit. The real money is less. $5M salary next season. $4M salary and $1M signing bonus in 26-27. Kreider has 10 goals and 1 assist this season in 28 games. Is Chris the leading contender for the Cy Young award?

When Kreider's name was leaked as part of Chris Kreider's email/subtext, some people said the Rangers will only move Kreider for a huge return. There many people in the fanbase all of they have known is Kreider as a Ranger and they have an inflated opinion on his value. There was a girl on Twiiter/X who was having a fit over the Rangers trading Kreider.

15 team NTC list.
A girl from that Asian Kreider girl band?

Old and Busted: Multiple-time postseason All-Star Artemi Panarin
New Hotness: 2 goals in 26 games Mavrik Bourque

I know Logan Stankhoven is 136 pounds soaking wet and that shit never works in the playoffs but did you know he was YOUNG? The future is BRIGHT. HELLOOOO.

I didn't say they were....I have friends who are Stars fans and they indicated this came from Stars mgmt, not their message boards.
Different orgs have different goals and if their goal is 2nd round + for the forseeable future and hope you get hot in the POs then the sustainable path is to roll out their kids and let them grow organically, sure. It's also the way that keeps their jobs the longest. Win-win?

It's most certainly not the best way to a Cup, but playoff revenue matters and there's nothing wrong with 7 kicks at the can.

EF on 32 Thoughts this AM:

-Said he got a note from a couple people that the associate GM of the Sabres was in Detroit for Red Wings vs Flyers on Wednesday night. Said it surprised some people. Said he thinks they were looking at the Red Wings. Said some people were wondering if they were trying to squeeze something in before the roster freeze deadline.

-Regarding Rangers: "I think overall, they're looking to take a big swing at something. A very big swing at something."

Then went on to say he thinks Drury is trying to calm the temperature by meeting with the players in Dallas the other day. "There's been a lot reported and a lot said about the NYR over the past little while, but I think one of the biggest things the players felt was they just wanted a bit more communication in terms of what the plan was as a group and individually. I think they understand this is a business and when things are going badly, the GM has to make tough decisions. But overall, I think they felt there was just a lack of communication in terms of what they were thinking personnel wise and some of the things they were going to do and where they were going overall."

Pegula had a meeting with the team on Mon in Montreal. Couple different versions of the story of the meeting. The words EF heard about the meeting was "we're not making changes, we're not firing people, the solution is here." Some of the ways explained described it as a positive meeting. Other ways explained described it as a way to get the team going.

Meh, I keep hearing Stars fans say they have no interest in veterans and will lean on youth but I’ve seen zero indication that the sentiment comes from management, and I think it’s highly UNLIKELY the Stars will resist adding a veteran or two for the post season, given they are in their prime contention window and it’s what teams do. Doesn’t mean they’ll deal with us, but I doubt they stand pat, especially with accrued cap space from Seguin’s surgery.

I don't know if its a generation thing or what but the soft emo description of our players (if accurate) tells me they were never going to win a cup as is. I can only imagine what teams from the 70s would say looking in.

Reminds me of the Phil Espo trade line. Harry Sindin goes to Espos hotel room.

Espo: If you tell me NY I'm going to jump out this window.

Harry: Bobby open the window for Phil

Dallas misses Pavelski. Kreider is the closest thing to Pavelski's skillset in the NHL at this point.
