If Drury trades Lafreniere, Cuylle and Schneider for three 2nd round picks and trades Mancini and Chytil each for 4th round picks he gets a free set of Steak Knives.

I feel like the opposite is true.

This is going to be an EPIC collapse of an org / team.

Top to bottom this is going to burn all the way down
This org has been a house of cards for decades. And for it to burn all the way down, that means Dolan would be gone as well...unfortunately, I don't see that happening.

Just looking at the chart, he really does have a chance to get a fair amount of those mid-round picks back just by trading guys who are UFA in the summer.

Who knows how the deadline goes in terms of buyers or sellers market, but could see something like

Smith for a 2 or 3
Lindgren 3 and a 6
Borgen 3 or 4
Vesey 6 or 7

And then you have decisions on Kreider and Miller, but you could use the summer for them.

I don't think Quick would want to leave home, but if he wanted a trade to a contender, you could probably get a 6-7 for him too.

People, there is no quick fix. This has been a drawn out process with a flawed roster that had some runs with luck and elite goaltending. They tried to catch lightning in a bottle but it's over. This will be a process that will last monthsss. This is not getting fixed in season to make them competitive for a playoff spot unless internally the players grow up and show some pride instead of pout

The facts prove that Rempe isn't an NHL player.
wrong
Rs have won more games w/him in the lineup than not

How does this trade "Make you right?"
Because it is an abysmally horrible trade and I was on record and said don't deal KK especially for cheap, so
a) we take a loss by selling cheap
b) we have opportunity cost if/when KK further upside happens, which I believe it will w/ideal partners

This is like every mistake b'c they didn't listen to me

insightful
my prob is when instead of moving out the deadwood and taking a hit for doing so, they give away productive youth which is gonna extend the problem and pursuit of a solution even further

What youth? People are delusional if they thought kakko had a long term future here. The writing has been on the wall for almost 2 years but they kept waiting to find a decent return. The return is not good, it's pieces and everyone knew what was happening here. Shit the org telegraphed it with kakko and this was the 4th or 5th time in 2 years they were actively trying to trade him.

So, your answer is to rush his removal from the team, when he's one of only a handful of players who are actually producing anything for us at the moment?

Makes sense.

Ha no, it's to see the timeline beyond the top of your nose.

Rfa after this year

UFA in one year

Nyr wasn't signing him to term bc he would want to be paid and he wasn't signing for term unless he was paid. So you're going to keep him and sign a 1 year deal to walk him to UFA status in the summer of 2026?? How clueless could you be.

Regardless at this point do you think he was signing here next summer or was it going to be another mess for the org? The timeline was rushing up on everyone.

If the numbers bore that out, ok then valid pt but my calculation was 3.75-4.25 w/term

How much of a teardown are Rangers fans expecting after the recent trades? It seemed like Trouba lost the captaincy (due to his price tag??) and Kakko got the boot for blaming management for the benching, but do you guys think they'll go for a firesale? (As an outside fan I think it must be tough to sell low when the big money guys aren't doing well, plus the media is so tuned in to guys' cold streaks, e.g. Mika's demotion, Shesterkin not being able to bail out the team, etc.). From an outsider fan's perspective, it'd be great if we could pry someone like Schneider loose from the team, but do you guys think management is going to be desperate and try to sell, or somehow wait it out?

Even in a tear down Schneider doesn’t get moved. He’s young and cost controlled.

Kakko was too, no? Also I get that RD likely have more trade value than wingers but Kakko was on pace for almost 40 points, and Schneider only played around 17 minutes a night.
