Vancouver is looking for a winger and top 4 D. Lindgren and Smith to Vancouver. 50% on both players. 75% combined retention on Smith. 1st round, 2nd round pick and 4th round pick. Jim Rutherford likes to move early. Van acquired Lindholm from Calgary last January. In 2006, Rutherford acquired Doug Weight from the Blues in January. Late in the month.

Provorov's family like Columbus, Ohio. His younger brother is committed to Ohio State. That's 2 or 3 years away. He is interested in staying there if the contract is right. Takes a rental D off the market.

I like how you think. Take out the 1st rounder and I think you have something close. 2nd 2025 (becomes their 1st if they make the conference finals), 2nd 2026, and a 2025 4th.

I mean yeah maybe drury needs to change how hes doing business here a bit. I also get the feeling like he's fed up and has been fed up with some of the players on this team and he isn't taking kindly to "take the money and play like shit" that's come up. He sees that the team needs changes and the players resist that so he's using the tools he has to change it.
Dunno, honestly they all kinds seem like assholes and idiots.
Players need to do their f***in' job. Drury's shenanagans aren't something that should play out on the ice

Probably the most reasonable take here.

I mean, he's fed up yet they've gone to two ECFs in three years under his watch. Yes the team needs changes but he could go about his business better and stop with the fake tough guy attitude. No one told him to sign Goodrow, keep Lindgren around this year, or hand out that absurd contract to Igor. Now I know why most of his Fairfield Prep team couldn't stand him.

Fair to some extent other than I think he's tried to give the core group of players the pieces that they'd need and they've come up short, and he really wanted to make changes this summer but players were blocking him (Goodrow didn't want to waive, Trouba didn't want to waive). Sure it's their right to do so and we can certainly argue he should have done a better job about it.
But I'm not sure anyone here looks good anymore, it's one big dysfunctional family

Guys, igor is not being traded. Please drop it.
This.
Igor and Fox are not part of the problem.
They are part of the solution…..
Panarin is elite at putting up points……
His defense, selfishness, unwilling to pay the physical price mentality plus age and length of contract is why he should be dealt……
Kreider as well. Hes not a bad wing, but looking at bit from all angles……
For how long each are here and what they can bring back in trade to help this team for multiple seasons along with their cap hits, it should be a no brainer……..
This season is already likely in the toilet….
Zibby beyond being waived will likely still be here. Bad center depth, his immovable contract, and lowest trade value of his career almost assuredly make it certain he’s on the team next season….
Lindgren should be gone too. Let Fox sulk for the rest of the season with rest of the team and start fresh next year….
Kakko should be dealt too…. Playing well and should have decent value for a hockey trade…. Too many burnt bridges here… won’t get a longer leash of bigger opportunity here either. Make the deal, and give Berard/Othmann the 3rd line minutes……
It’s just simple logic at this point

I have to give Drury and the coaching staff credit. They’ve done a great job of ostracizing and pissing off not only the veterans, but younger players too!

Misery for all
Okay. THIS was funny.

You may be right, but he still has value as a 40-point winger. Why throw that away? Who are you replacing him with that is better and/or cheaper?
And as adept defensively...

This… I don’t see how a player can sign a high $$ multi-year deal here, then when they don’t produce or at least give an honest effort every game expect there to be no repercussions whatsoever…. It’s astonishing……
In the real world, if we can’t do our job there’s a line of people behind us……
Too many of our guys have a country club aww shucks mentality here right now….
That’s not good enough if you want to be a top earning pro athlete on an NY stage
