Listen, I’m fully on board with what happened with Goodrow because it benefitted the team

But anyone claiming that what happened to him is totally fine, I’m calling BS. If you were in the same situation where you didn’t want to work at a particular place, and your company conspired with a loophole to have you work there, you’d be pissed too. And so would the people around you who care about you

And the retort can be, well that’s what the money is for. Which is fine, but me and my co workers don’t have to be happy about it
It’s not a loophole. Waivers are openly understood and used by every single NHL team. If he had the negotiating power, he could have negotiated a full NMC which would not allow him to be waived. He didn’t have that. He probably could have taken less money and gotten an NMC. He negotiated for the contract he agreed to. It is 100% totally fine and not sketchy at all.

How do you know that it is only them? Is because you dont like them?

Hint: Its the whole team.
Because I watch the games and see who’s the worst offenders for lack of effort.
Lindgren isn’t entirely lack of effort

He still shows emotion during the game. He tries to agitate. I dont think he is one of the people who have lead the revolt and gave up.

He seems like he still hcares. But that is just my opinion and observation.
So he is getting outperformed by a washed up vegan crybaby who doesnt care?

Yeah one thing i would never knock lindgren for is effort and attitude.

He just flat out is bad at this point.

Like Girardi. Guy gave it his all but the body can only take so much punishment.

It's fine for you to feel this way, but obviously players around the league disagree.

There's a reason waivers are not usually used, unless you absolutely need to get a player out of the locker-room, or need to make way for other bodies (which is why goalies might get waived easier). Because it does almost nothing to your cap situation. A trade is always more preferable. Thus, players actually see that NTC as protecting them just as well as waivers, because teams usually don't put players who have problem contracts to waivers (goalies being the exception, because they have to).

Is there nothing to be done that just makes Sean Avery go away forever? I didn’t think it was possible he could become a bigger blowhard than when he was a player.
The worst part about it is that he does the "don't be lazy and play the right way" shtick when he couldn't keep a spot in the NHL because he was more interested in modeling.

"Mika vacationing in Mallorca instead of working on his shot!" he tweets, from his house in Mallorca.

He is having a bad year. Having a bad year and not trying are two completely different things

I dont think Trochek has an attitude problem. Which is why i would treat him differently. In fact, i think he is probably the best leader this team has from an observational standpoint.

Obviously, i have no clue what goes on behind closed doors. But if he was leading the revolt, i would be highly surprised:

I agree it's not usual. But there are two specific clauses - no move and no trade - the players and their agents know full well what they mean, and they often reduce cap hits by offering them. The players shouldn't get the benefits of negotiating a partial NTC, without no move protection, and a higher salary, without realizing the repercussions of not living up to that contract. It's not how it works

And who are they in your opinion? Cause its easy to figure out. There are stats readily available for every game played.

There is zero proof that anyone on the team is not trying or there’s a revolt. This is something fans make up to make themselves feel better as they try to fall asleep laying in their ranger sheets under their giant messier fathead wall decal.

Are you advocating for social ownership of the means of production?

I always thought it was odd how Europe and the US reversed economic positions on the way sports franchises and leagues are run somehow.

In the US we have all this salary cap and revenue sharing stuff- in Europe the big clubs just get bigger, richer, better players onward into dawn.

Hell, the spanish government even mass-subsidizes Real Madrid and Barca. Why are they all of a sudden the ruthless sports capitalists

Kreider #1 on the Athletic Trade Board.

They've been booed off the ice 4 times in the last 2 weeks, including Garden of Dreams night against the Devils. Those fans werent watching from under their Rangers bedsheets.

Well, not everywhere in Europe. The 50+1 rule in Germany is pretty dope.

lol, the entire team sucks right now. From the coach to Quick. Sucking and purposely sucking are two entirely different things.
