y'all hate him right? i expect full celebrations on this board and maybe we'll see this team get hot without this hair dye-ing lazy dumb anchor on the blueline, eh boys?

That was not my first thought, no. More thinking about the fact that Vaak is also on IR so we need to call up Connor Mackey

Just because many of us feel that K'Andre hasn't been good doesn't mean we think the other options currently available to us are better.

The rubric for evaluating K'Andre isn't Connor Mackey or whoever gets called up. It's the level of play we need from a top 4 defenseman if we want to win a cup. K'Andre is not currently at that level and has regressed from where he was 2 years ago.

Maybe he isn't a good fit for whatever system Lavi/Housley have employed, or maybe he was never that good and was playing over his head under Gallant. Whatever the reason, he needs to be better, or we need to replace him with someone better.

Waste of assets and cap space. He wasn't even that good for us last year, outside of the stretch where Fox was out.

he was very good the whole year and we miss him more than most people realize this year

i would say he was our 5th or 6th best player on the whole roster last season

what's an honest return for Panarin @ 50%?

his NMC limits options to where he'd want to go
This team isn't moving Panarin, the owner wants a cup, he will move anyone but Panarin, Lafreniere, Fox and Shesterkin

Thankfully it was Mackey that got the spot, he annoys me the least

Why would anyone hate KAM or any of our players? None of them seem like bad guys.

Even if your statement was correct, what difference do you think he will make? At best, you're putting lipstick on a pig. If he didn't have an extra year on his contract and he was free, sure, why not. But it would be foolish to give up an asset for him.

We need to be thinking more long-term right now. Gus is not a long-term solution. He's barely a short-term solution.

my statement is correct

Vesey was once thought of as a big college star .....even won the prestigious Hobey Baker Award . So....Perreault could be the same as we all know how prospects get hyped . I doubt he ever plays a regular season game as a NYR . If he remains a Ranger....I hope he becomes a star .
Vesey won the Hobey as a 22 year old lighting it up in a no-so-great conference. GP had more points in a better conference as an 18 year old freshman

He was not good for the WHOLE year (he was even more underwhelming in playoffs), and so far Jones has been better than Gus. Otherwise he's not going into the lineup over either Miller or Lindgren.

Seems Miller will be back next game.

trade for Gus
Detroit's not even using him

I brought this up a while back, he'd be a guy who Detroit likely would give away for nothing

He was a good bottom-pairing d-man and I'm sure the cost would be next to nothing

he would be a massive upgrade on Lindgren. Fox-Gus would be an amazing pairing.

and i mean, everyone was underwhelming in the playoffs. he was still the 6th best CF and 3rd best xGF player on the team in the playoffs. he looked worse because the whole team was worse.
