Lindgren had the puck last night in the offensive zone with a clear shooting lane and instead skated it down to below the goal line and turned it over. Couldn't f***ing believe what I was watching

He is so awful with the puck on his stick it's a criminal offense and his defense has declined to barely NHL level. He needs to go for literally anything. I'll take past considerations at this point.
I was going to comment on that as it happened, but I closed out my tab and figured if I'm already on a stupid 30 sec delay it would be pointless to post. That was up there with Laf's pass in the first.

Why does this org have rocks for brains and the look surprised and stupid when things go pear shaped time and time again?

It's a matter of Drury having to take Laviolette's toys away. I wouldve waived Lindgren by now but I guess Drury can't go back to that well a 3rd time and maintain any job security.

People need to be careful with getting rid of Miller. You better get back a decent LD back and young not a 32 year old d man.
We all saw what kind of time Lindgren will get being the main guy at LD (with Miller out).

Trade them both

I'm sure I'm way off base here but Buffalo & NYR seem like pretty good trade partners in need of a shake up. Maybe a deal centered around RFAs of Miller & KK for Byram & Peteka? NYR prob needs to add or maybe a lesser player than Peterka? But I'd like him for NYR as he can play both C & W.

I don’t think miller is going to return a D.

I’d be looking for a similar situation forward. I doubt Anaheim gives up on Mactavish this quickly, but that’s along the lines of what I’d be looking for.

Or you could just play Miller with Fox. That has worked
Reading that ESPN+ article I fantasized for a second about Miller for Mason MacT...

I could see:

Kreider for Bischel + 1st

Miller for McTavish

Hell, if Anaheim were REALLY interested in trading Fowler I'd take him as part of the deal @ $4m per season to use as a bridge to the next crop of d-men

Byram seems like someone this team could use but I don't want another guy who has had history of head injuries. Too risky. And I am sure Peterka is one of their most likeable prospects. How about a guy like Cozens?

actually on second thought he makes 7 million plus..

otherwise agree, but overriding factor is need to cut the zib cancer NOW
teams do not have a reason to accommodate this and be motivated to acquire immediately
possible exception is VAN to extent they are short while JTM is out
in the circumstances, I can live w/zib at half and we ony get back Raty, Juulsen + cap relief

pls stop win now rentals acquiring vets for youth
BUILD WITH YOUTH

no, beyond cooked
not worth risk getting stuck with

no, it doesn't
should not be dealt and if he were for quality youth not a win now vet
Bern....we're in the win now mode, this franchise isn't gonna go backwards, people thinking we'll rebuild again are sorely mistaken. Dolan wants a cup and he's not waiting and hoping on another 5 year rebuild.

I'm not trading Miller unless his ask for his next contract is ridiculous. He's young and learning, defensemen take time. Personally id like to see us get someone to play with him that can mentor him better than Trouba did.

Whatever we think of K'Andre he is the one huge trade chip this team has. They better make sure they get it right. He holds huge value because he does things you can't teach and has valuable playoff experience already at 24 years old. If he goes a young center or very good youngish dman has to be coming back.

Multiple sources have already reported that this is going to be an issue in the summer. I'd be highly motivated to sell high now, instead of when he is holding out next fall.

Well if that's the case I'll move him but I honestly hope someone helps Drury with the deal lol.

Unfortunately our left side is decimated, lindgren needs to go and Jones while good is too small for minutes like Miller takes. This would have to be quite the deal imo

Kreider being moved would still be a shock, as many felt his inclusion in the memo was a tactic to scare a veteran core into playing better -- one that hasn't worked, for the record. Kreider has three years left on his contract, with a $6.5 million average annual value, and a 15-team no-trade list.
An NHL executive texted me recently to ask, "Chris Kreider for Brad Marchand ... who says no?" Once you hear it, you can't stop checking boxes for why that would make sense, from the infusion of competitive tenacity onto the Rangers to the Bruins getting a younger local product under contract beyond this season. The kind of trade proposal that makes you fall in love with trade proposals all over again.

I keep saying this but Dallas is in a really unique spot. They have very good veteran players and a core group of explosive young forwards providing primary and secondary scoring, along with 3 really good d-men. The Seguin injury, while unfortunate for them, really provides a fantastic opportunity to well exceed the cap for this season and into the playoffs before any rules change and, beyond that, they have Benn, Duchene and Dadonov as UFA's at years end, on top of the cap increase ad only Johnston as a RFA that should be due a major raise at years end. In saying that they could very easily fit a large contract or two of players that propel them forward both this year and next.

As an aside, Matt Dumba was signed by them this past off-season to help their right side defense and he hasn't worked out very well. 1 point in 19 games ad I believe he has been a healthy scratch at times. He makes $3.5m per season for this year and next.

Would the teams consider a deal around:

Kreider for Dumba @$2.5m + Bischel + DAL 1st

The Rangers get a RD to play on the bottom-pairing for now, allowing Mancini to get big minutes in the AHL as well as a high end LD prospect with good size in Bischel and the Stars add a power forward who can also help their PP and fill the role Pavelski had there for years.

Daves a mess

Bichsel makes sense. Him and their 1st for Kreider would be good. Would need to move Lindgren still which seems like they won't ever do.
