Shooting 20% is unsustainable. Can't believe I have to keep having this conversation.

It's called a slump. Cuylle is going to go like ten games without a goal at some point because of course he is.
Even if he cools off with putting up points, he's been objectively great 5 v 5. He still deserves every minute of ice time he's getting and then some.

Don't disagree with that at all.

My whole thing is, when he doesn't actually score 32 even strength goals (which eight guys did last year, and it's a list of Hall of Famers and also Zach Hyamn) I don't wanna hear "oh he stopped going to the net!"

Yep, everything he touches atm turns into a high danger chance or a point. It's not always going to be like that but he is playing really well overall.

Kreider and Trouba are the movable core players. If people consider trading them and chaff like Lindgren/Smith as a "rebuild" they can call it what they want. I don't see guys like Miller and Kakko moving. Not Drury's MO. Trocheck fits the direction the Rangers are trying to go and has chemistry with our best players. He's more likely to be an interim captain than dealt.

Between Kreider/Trouba, the trade to make is Kreider. You can get value back and capitalize on a declining asset. We have young wingers all over the lineup that need his ice time. Trouba can at least be relegated to the 3rd pair, and provides more of a physical intimidation element that absolutely matters. Plus the team sees him as a leader. Easier trade to make with 1 year left in the offseason. We all know there is a MIka element to this as well. He won't agree to leave if Kreider sticks around. The trade is coming down the tracks, it's only a matter of when.
nope
IF Jake T will go, show him the door
he has reduced himself to emergency 7D and if forced I'd play him 4RW, but I'd prefer to ditch now

Kreider still has actual ability, is good value now and likely to extend team friendly here

stop
lose the deadwood

something around
fully retained Zib + Fox for Miller as a core
that is how you build long term

Kreider is still in like the top 15% in top speed.

Hes fallen off but he is still objectively fast.
kudos for this^
to those saying otherwise let's be fair/honest
playing w/bad back/related issues
c'mon

Was organizing the storage room in my basement over the weekend and came across this in a box.
A game program in very good shape from 12/22/1980 vs the Calgary Flames:

One game?
yes - the post i responded to said that things will happen based on the result of tonight's game. I think thats ridiculous. If something happens it should be the result of acknowledging the teams much deeper flaws, which are endemic and chronic, rather than just whatever we might see tonight.
