Seriously, what are these guys seeing that we are not? Is Lindgren just being given all kinds of leash because he’s been a good soldier for the past few years? Is this just loyalty to a fault, or does the brass honestly believe he can work himself through these issues?

I’m not sure what would be worse. The team being overly loyal. The team being blind to reality. Or the team being completely beholden to the whims of Adam Fox.

Put the first line back together.

Put the Chytil line back together.

Get Lindgren out of the lineup.

Minimize Mika’s ES ice time.

Very simple.

Generally don’t care for these guys but I’m glad this is gaining traction

When do we ever pick up guys like this off of waivers .

I’ll bet my life that we don’t even kick the tires

I can think of many but usually they do not work out here just like they did not work out in their prior places.

Yup. Lindgren should be demoted to the 7th D spot and Zibanejad to the 3rd line if we're going off of merit.

Panarin-Trochek-Lafreniere
Kreider-Chytil-Kakko
Cuylle-Zib-Smith
Eddy-Carrick-Vesey

Miller-Fox
Schneider-Trouba
Jones-Mancini

I don’t disagree but they’re not going to outright bench Lindgren. Best we can hope for (outside of a trade) is for them to start rotating him and Trouba out for “maintenance”, and accept the fact they’ll play in the playoffs unless they’re on IR.

No matter how a coach arranges these chess pieces it will not change the team dramatically. We are a skilled team but an easy team to play against. Florida realized they had to drastically change their team identity to win and they did that. That is very hard to do so I give them props. I do not know what we need to do but I do know this current group is not winning a cup. We can get close but we are not winning one without legitimate changes imo.

If the team had any balls or forward thinking both Trouba and Lindgren would be healthy scratches. Jones and Mancini would be regulars

Jets fan coming in peace, should be a wild one tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it.
Can someone give me a breakdown of the top line fiasco Laviolette is orchestrating? Is he just trying to generate more offence out of Mika to get him going? And whats going on with the D pairs? Im genuinely curious - our boneheaded coach from last year, although he was great in many aspects forced a lot of lineup changes that drove us up the f****ing wall

PS you will be happier with Trouba out of the lineup - hes toxic on the ice and in the changeroom.

That might change things a little but not anywhere towards making us a legit contender imo. Both Lindgren and Trouba missed time last season. It did not make us a real contender imo. We are too easy to play against. I can see that. I readily admit I do not have a solution but I can see the problem. Its been the same problem for a while.

For all the shit Drury gets, the Sam Carrick signing which was overtly lambasted by almost everyone has turned out to be a good one. That 4th line of Edstrom-Carrick-Vesey/Brodzinski has been very good for their role. He's been super effective in the faceoff circle and that line pretty consistently transports the puck from one end to the other and generates pretty good chances by working hard and getting to the net. He's been a nice upgrade from Bonino last year and he's physical to boot.

We don't know really know what the coach is going to do.
It could Panarin, Zibanejad and Lafreniere.
It could also be Kreider, Zibanejad, Smith
Panarin, Trocheck, Lafreniere

The organization seems to love Lindgren. His body is broken. He doesn't look healthy. He shouldn't be playing. So most likely he'll be riding top pair with Fox...

1. Reassemble one of the best lines in hockey
2. Demote Mika
3. Trade Lindgren for RD
4. Keep Jones in lineup
5. Profit

Panarin - Trocheck - Lafreniere
Kreider - Chytil - Smith
Cuylle - Zib - Kakko
Edstrom - Carrick - Vesey/Brod

Miller - Fox
Schneider - Trouba
Jones - TRADE

I doubt he's toxic in the change room. Didn't the change room vote him in as a captain?

It's shocking how bad we've been lately in terms of on ice play since even if Mika isn't what he's supposed to be the current group of 12 forwards literally doesn't have a weak link. How many teams when healthy can say that? 1-12, every forward on the team is good.

No offense but how would you know that? Our players and coaches really seem to like Trouba a lot. I also do not think this team with a toxic captain in the locker room would have led the NHL in points last season.

I hope it haunts Chris Drury’s dreams till the day that he dies that Buchnevich is an 70-80 point center/wing

I basically come onto this site to fill these canisters with the cries of posters who don’t want to hear about the Buch trade anymore

The forth line didn't get better per se if compared to last year's Vesey - Goodrow - Brodzinsky line but with Carrick at C now - it comes with over $2m cap savings at no performance cost.

Save Panarin and Laf, please I’m begging you Lavi. Let the 2 BFF’s rot together. For all the shit Mika has been getting Kreider has been just as bad even strength. The only time you notice Kreider is on the power play or penalty kill. I know some think he’s Mr. Ranger and all but he’s always MIA too, and with that size and strength he never uses it.
