Very is a better player in every aspect besides fighting than Rempe. It’s not close.
He might actually hold a better fight win/loss record. I kid, too many fans judge fights with win/loss when there really isn't a real winner in a back and forth tussle.

Jimmy boi is listed with 9 fights.
Rempe has 34 between AHL/NHL/preseason. That's a lot for a young man.

continued beyond stupid Rempe hate...

boycott these guys a month, and let them know why

tell em bern sent you

I think most of us don't bother with sites such as this.

So the question of whether he could get a top 9 for us when we already have a top 9 and guys like Berard and Othmann in Hartford and Perreault at BC....and who exactly does the writer of the article think that top 9 forward is? It's not much more than bullshit speculating that someone might do because they can't find anything better to do with their time.

I'm not all fired up to move anyone at the moment and I prefer to leave the general managing to Drury. He's the one being paid to do it after all. All I really ask from him is not to do anything stupid and as long as the team is doing okay in the standings there is no reason for him to push the panic button and even make any moves at all.

I have respect for Vesey. He's a very good and reliable 4th line guy who can do a creditable job if asked to move up to our 3rd line. We have a lot of good players and a lot of forwards like Rempe, Othmann, Berard knocking at the door. We don't have to get rid of any of them. But......with young guys like that also if you do move them I want good players that are going to be around for a while and not a few weeks. Let other teams develop their own young and if they can't that's their f***ing problem.

again, we agree to disagree
Rempe has size, reach, strength, stamina, energy, straight away speed

Vesey MAY be SLIGHTLY better east-west skating

Rempe, like Kreider before him, has to learn how to score at NHL
Not for nothing, Jimmy V never was confused for a scorer or sniper.

Rempe can for now be an effective component in a properly built line [Vesey, not so much]. You'll recall I said one formula for a successful line =
driver of play + facilitator + scorer
while he's a bit rough around the edges, obv, Rempe's physical dominance qualifies him as potential 'driver of play' in that equation

And as to checking, Vesey is ok, but ordinary at best
While Rempe has room for improvement, when he checks you, you feel it.
He's a PITA to play vs
He forces opponents to modify to avoid getting hit

Vesey.... not so much

The Rangers are a legit contender. More legit than any other team in their division. IMO they are top two with Florida in the East. The Panthers have more dependable firepower IMO than we do but winning the Cup last year also forced an exodus of some of their depth this year. Panthers don't have a lot of organizational depth.

For the Rangers---we can beat teams like Carolina in playoffs---we should be able to beat teams like the Devils. The Maple Leafs tend to beat themselves. The Bruins seem somewhat discombobulated this year. The Lightning are dangerous but on the downside. The Rangers have to figure out how to at least battle guys like Matthew Tkachuk and Barkov to a standstill or close to a draw. Zibanejad did not match Barkov....we had issues with the Panthers forecheck led by Tkachuk and Bennett. We lost but without great goaltending by Igor it would have been a slaughter---not one goal losses.

There is no particular formula for what makes a team a contender. You just need 4/5/6 great players at different positions along with good depth throughout. The likelihood of winning without very good goaltending though is not very great.
Rangers arent winning a cup with this defensive corps. Its not good enough.

The Lightning, Devils and Panthers losses in the playoffs honestly all felt molecularly idential to me. Those series played out the exact same way.

It didn’t feel like it was bad luck or we got goalied or PDO shenanigans but rather we have some terminally fatal flaws that we can’t dig out of once the snowball starts rolling.
It was all the same because the top guys all don't have an appetite to get dirty and grind for weeks on end... and it's the same top guys. So nothing changes. It's still the same top guys. It still won't change. It's not complicated.

I've seen enough times in sports, a team or a player struggle to figure it out in the playoffs, in tight games, or in big spots, and suddenly figure it out. Past performance is not necessarily indicative of future success. I understand fans being pessimistic about the team's chances in a playoff series with a team like Florida, but they can figure it out. They'll have to in order to be champions. We have no control over it so we just have to wait and see.
Oh, you sweet summer child.
