I don't hate the forward lines. Kreider-Chytil-Kakko has the potential of being very exciting, and I think they have always looked together for the small amount of time they have been together.

The D-pairs however...

You really have to move on from Lindgren. He completely fell off a cliff and instead of moving on this summer to open some space for a veteran on a cheap deal that is better, we're paying more for a net negative player.

Outside of the Montreal game, which everyone seems to be doing to them, it's been awful.

He's the biggest flaw on the roster bar none and the easiest one for them to move on for the issues they have.

I love the potential Mancini has but he should be in Hartford at this point. Jones should be slotted in more than he is.

By the deadline this team needs to add two defenders, one to replace Lindgren and one to add veteran depth. I don't think the forwards are an issue and there is plenty of depth in the organization.

Kreider and Chytil was always an interesting one because maybe Chytil’s ability to carry the puck with speed through center could open up some really good opportunities for Kreider on the rush coming down from the opposition blue-line inwards. He could get in a space to take a shot that isn’t a waste of time more often if so.

Zib playing with Panarin is as much about getting him back on track and rediscovering even strength tendencies that will get him offense and improve his game both with and without our top winger.

While the Trocheck line feels like “spare parts” it actually has enough skill and got combined to be an interesting combo to watch.

What I like the most about it is that we should see a much more even rotation of lines 2 and 3.

I don’t mind the experimentation even if it’s not how I would do it. It shows the coaching is not fooled by final scores, which is a good thing.

I don’t mind mixing the lines up, quite honestly the only good line has been the 3rd line and the 4th line has been alright. The top 2 lines haven’t been good enough. The Panarin line can’t defend whatsoever.

Lindgren playing on the top pairing is on Drury. He never should have been re-signed and now it’s up to him to find an upgrade.

Lindgren being back with Fox is unremarkable in that it was as always happening this year at some point.

Mancini needs to sit and get demoted. He does noticable stuff that pops but then you look at the end of the game and he had a 35% corsi rate and got caved. Let him fly in the AHL. He'll be back

Trochek NEEDS to be forced into 3rd line ES or else Laviolette will kill him by Christmas. Guys been playing 23-25 mins. He's getting overworked badly.

no reason to split up the Chytil line especially when Kreider would look much better with Trocheck and Smith

you knew those D pairs were coming, i love Miller/Fox but the other two pairings are like being on a sinking ship. you kinda have to spread them out, a Lindgren/Trouba pairing cannot be playing 15 minutes a night.

It's not a good comparison. That's why I didn't make it first. At the same time just look up Rempe's elite prospects page. He couldn't even score much in U15 leagues, U18 leagues etc. How many forwards like that in the last 20 years have become anything of use? I have no idea how big he was back then but I don't think it's needing to "grow into his body" since that hasn't improved as he got older. He's not going to chip in anything offensively so it's purely his physical play with nothing extra. He's not a great defensive player and he doesn't play special teams so what are you getting? A guy who plays 5-6 minutes a game on the 4th line who will score like 12 points a year and hit and fight? He needs to go to the AHL and work on becoming a very strong positional defensive player to have value. He is not developing playing minimal minutes in the NHL where he's just told to be physical.
This Canadian judge gives you an 8/10 for that reply. In the best interest of the prospect that would be the right move considering the amount of minutes he gets when he plays . The kid needs to play at his age . Maybe he should be playing in Sweden like Mancini and Edstrom did.....hone his skills .

The team is incredibly lazy and supports each other incredibly poorly in the defensive and neutral zones, relying on a few transcendent talents to make things happen (Panarin, Fox) most of the time.

Until that's fixed, the subpar guys (Lindgren, Mancini) are going to look worse in a place where structure isn't being followed.

Professional dinosaur defense-first Peter Laviolette having the same problems as "What is an X and what is an O" Gerard Gallant tells you all you need to know - it's the guys who are touching the ice, same as it ever is.

Wow. We just simultaneously made our 1st, 2nd, 3rd lines worse and our 1st and 2nd D Pairs. f*** this team man

I actually don't mind the forward changes for the simple fact that it would be nice to get all 3 top lines going. Only 2 were productive. The bromance isn't working.

My issue is the D pairings. Enough of Lindgren. The team needs 5v5 production, more minutes for Ryan is not going to help that. The D "changes" are essentially just a revolving door for our young D, who quite frankly should be playing.

But Schneider/Tuba was actually solid. He should stick to the original line-up
