See your argument is largely based on the availability of a path via RFA offer sheet which is by and large not a thing in today’s NHL, mostly a small exception to the rule. The only real path for Kakko is to work with Drury and wait until he gets more control over his career (in a business sense) as he gets closer to becoming a UFA.
Except we just saw 2 RFA's sign offers this off-season with players who are both far less than Kakko.

If a player truly is willing to go elsewhere, theres no rush to sign the deal. Theres no harm in waiting till the RFA window is open. He could've signed his deal 3 days after the window with zero offers.

He’s still RFA at season’s end… he can’t just move on. And why would the team want that? The fact is he’s not a liability at his current cap hit and if we resign him he still wont be. He’s going to get a contract commensurate with his performance this year. A young player getting paid correctly who still has some upside… He makes ZERO sense as a cap dump. Trouba, Lindgren, Zibs (if not for his NMC)… players not living up to their contract. Players that are past their peak. That’s who get salary dumped. Kakko even in his current form is an ASSET with further upside. If he’s moved it won’t be a cap dump. And if it helps the team none of us will be opposed to it.
See my reply to @IDvsEGO - the issue is that in a year he’s going to be only one year removed from UFA and in control of his destiny where probably he doesn’t see himself as a 3rd line defensive specialist.

Yeah exactly two which proves my point - it’s an exception rather than a rule.

Sure those are the exceptions, but if he wasn't happy with the entire concept of the deal (money + location + opportunity) he wouldn't have signed as early as he did.
Your entire argument is that no one signs offer sheets, and yeah its rare. We also never hear how many get offered and not signed. He entirely sidestepped that potential.

when Lindgren comes back why not do a 7 man rotation on defense? let these guys get some rest so they're not all hurt in the playoffs. maybe only rest Fox once every 2nd time through. we now have 7 NHL defensemen, why not take advantage of it?

If we are keeping Mancini up, one of the forwards will have to go down, and I don't think they'll do that while Vesey is out.

Hey. You’re welcome to your opinion. I have nothing to add to what I’ve already said. We shall see what happens.

Typical marketing uber alles shit
That makes no sense. In the regular season, maybe? In the playoffs? No f***ing way. They are going to have a full house every night and are going to ice the team they THINK has the best chance to win. Even if not everyone agrees with that choice.
As far as Edstrom, he didn’t look THIS good last year. He took a bigger step over the summer than Rempe did. Said he feels MUCH stronger. He’s close to a finished product now at 24.

Obviously opinions differ. The coaches seem comfortable putting him in the lineup. No one has a gun to Laviolette's head to dress Rempe...
Is the coach always right about players' ability to help win games? Hell no. Hahaha. But a lot more often than fans on message boards are...
They don't seem comfortable playing him a lot. He's been in the lineup once over the first four games.

Well Edstrom has shown up this year a step ahead of him IMO.
I’m not implying Rempe is an everyday player (on this team), he’s a work in progress. If they weren’t comfortable playing him though, he wouldn’t be playing at all.
Personally, I think if he’s going to play less than half the games here he might be better served in Hartford.

In Hartford the new kids and the old goons will line up every game to fight him...he would lose a lot as that is where the real goons are and they will want another notch on their respective belts . He would end up hurt and that serves no purpose . He needs to remain in NY as long as possible . If we had a 5 game losing streak and he was responsible for most of them losses....then he needs to be sent down . As long as the club is rolling good...he should stay up and get some extra skills work and edge work in practice and after practice .

I'll give you all 3 guesses why a coach with over 800 career NHL wins isn't dressing a fighter who doesn't play hockey at an NHL level.

Edstrom proves that there’s more to being a big hockey player. Rempe is not there yet.

He did just fine down there before as a raw willing 6’7” target. And he’s bigger stronger and has better balance now. Plus he can always say no when it doesn’t suit him. I’m really not worried he’ll get hurt down there. I’m fine with whichever path they choose for him, but if he’s playing less than 6 mins a game and not even half the games, I do not see that being optimal for his development.

I'll give you all 3 guesses why a coach with over 800 career NHL wins isn't dressing a fighter who doesn't play hockey at an NHL level.
And I’ll give you three why a coach with over 800 career wins does…
It seems he’ll mostly rotate Brodz (away) and Rempe (home, with control of matchups) till Vesey comes back.

so the rangers should suddenly prioritize the development of a guy who's ceiling is bottom 6 forward?
While we're trying to win games this year, we should be ok with him causing us to lose games, so long as its not "a 5 game losing streak that he directly causes"

The rangers are not developing anyone who isn't already a regular NHL player, nor should they.
If he needs development he goes to the AHL. if he can't figure out how not to fight, then he shouldn't be in the NHL anyways.
