Marek and Wyshynski talk about Quenneville here around the 29:00 mark. Wyshynski says he "knows nothing about nothing," so it sounds like he's just spit balling (he specifically says it's a theory) about NYR making a coaching change for Quenneville. Wouldn't read a ton into it. Seemed more speculative than actually speaking on a rumor he's heard.

Marek brings up DET, but Wyshynski says, "I checked in on Quenneville a couple wks ago when I did coach's hot seat piece. And I had someone in the coaching community tell me "Look, there's a couple issues with him in DET. There's the asking price. Which I don't know if the Ilitch family wants to meet necessarily. There's the legacy part of it. You'd expect him to want to go to a team that he assumes is going to have a good degree of regular season success over the next several seasons and hopefully postseason success. I don't know if that's DET."

What's the last major roster shakeup to happen not over the summer or at the deadline? It would be pretty unprecedented.

Plenty of teams have fired the coach early, but I can't think of the last time they made significant, core-altering trades early.
We have not even had an in house practice scrap of late......surely that will be coming soon ! My money is on Shesty and Miller .

@KirkAlbuquerque thank you for this gift

This is perfect for spoofing with a New York Rangers general manager instructional video.

As a general manager, you have a chance to make players feel welcomed and appreciated. By greeting them warmly and holding brief conversations with players as you manage them, you're saying, we're glad you're here. Let's take a closer look at greeting players.

Every conversation you hold with players should go something like this:

Good day

Or

Hi, how are you?

Then, start a conversation by asking something a player can answer quickly. You might ask something like this:

Are you back spams improving?

Or this

Did you play in the game last night?

Or this

Have you listened to Zibanejad's disc? It's my favorite.

These players are babies. Too sensitive. Brooks discusses the Goodrow situation. They were upset at training camp. It has resurfaced again. The Rangers didn't tell him until 15 minutes before being placed on waivers. The players are upset.

Who are these players? The players have gone on strike.

This group needs to be gutted. Grievances.

After the Montreal game, the Rangers players were hugging and kissing Jim Ramsey.

They were mad at Ramsey being let go. They can meet with Ramsey away from the cameras.

They can't be that stupid to actually think KK is the issue, right? Yea, he'll never be what we drafted him to be but he's still a valuable piece. Lindgren and Trouba need to GTFO
I don't really read much in the way of Ranger 'news', but most of it gets filtered through here in some form and I don't think I've seen anything that suggests they think KK is an 'issue' at all

Not surprised that Kakko’s name is coming up. It doesn’t seem like he wants to be here long-term given his comments to Finnish media over the past year or two.

He’s definitely not untouchable but I would hate to see Kakko be the only one to be traded, that would be offensive
I view it more as the organization realizing they don't have pieces that will bring in actual value right now. What are you getting for Trouba if you can trade him? You're either retaining or taking something back, even if the add is a bonus. Everybody has some kind of restriction on their contract preventing an easy move. I view it as the organization viewing they need a little more speed, they need a little bit more of a top 6 player, and for the right offer Kakko is available for them to explore. I don't think it's Kakko singled out as the guy needing to be moved. I'm sure management sees the crap everybody else is doing.

Brooks is 100% correct when he says the players are too sensitive. He's right. It's been obvious to anyone who pays attention for a long time.

Trouba brought the drama from the summer into training camp. Unbecoming of a leader. Would they have been happy if Goodrow had an hour to process? 24 hours? Why does it matter? It's a business. Thats what they tell us lowly fans at least. Goodrow is just mad he didnt get bought out and too pick his new spot (back to Tampa Bay for peanuts quite obviously)

Same with Trouba. What is he so upset about. He was horrible in the playoffs and a leaguewide laughingstock in the ECF. His NMC turned to an NTC. He and his agent have been manipulating contractual stuff his whole career, but he was somehow blindsided the Rangers might look to move on? He should consider himself lucky he didnt get the waiver treatment then. Now it seems inevitable. They can't continue on with a lame duck captain. Nothing will change until hes gone.

Begs the questions, why hasnt Lindgren been traded? Why is he still dragging down our top defenseman? Because they are pals?

Why have we traded a truckload of assets to get MIka & Kreider going at 5v5? They havent adjusted their games at all to accommodate anyone.

Why did it take a regime change and multiple coaches before Panarin allowed himself to have a linemate under the age of 25?

The answers to these questions become a lot more obvious once you understand the inmates are running the asylum. The room needs to be blown up because Drury is a eunuch and Laviolette refuses to spread the ice time to the young core who deserve it.

No new news is good news...but around these parts that is COMPLETE AND UTTER HORSESHIT!!

The more I read about our players and their little delicate egos and our bumblin', pizza pie makin' GM...like...shit... I mean...who here has a kid?

Do they have a jersey of their favorite Ranger who currently plays on this incarnation of a shitstain of a franchise?!

I think you and the child need to have a talk, something along these lines:

A lot of close calls then

Good to see them laughing at stealing money from Drury and playing like shit. After last nights game if anyone smiled or laughed they’d be benched. Last night was a disappointment. Country Club does not belong in the NHL.

As much as we have sucked (and we've been bad), is not at least a little bit of a beat up by entities that need drama in order to get clicks/eyeballs/content.
We've looked bad, we've lost some games while looking like we don't know how to even spell 'hockey', and all the bad habits over the past few years are now laid bare for all to see.
But, we are 4th in the Metro and currently in a WC spot. We are 7th in the East for w%. We are 13th in the league for w%.
We are 4-6 in our last 10, but so are the Panthers and so are the Jets. We also have similar records (an OTW or OTL here or there) to a bunch of teams.
So either there's a huge chunk of the league who have similar issues and we should be seeing similar stories about, or there's just a touch of overreacting going on that we are all feeding into.

This team needs changes and shakeup, but some of the takes are getting ridiculous.

I mean, Larry has written this exact article 6,783 times so you could have read this at any time, including when we were in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Those teams lacked the talent but they still busted their asses in different ways to at least make it close. Boring hockey but they played balls to the wall.

This?! With the addage of primadonna sensibilities?!

f*** that shit!

Yeah, but Larry said the same thing about those teams.

Larry is in a cult. The team won't be tough enough until they're literally armed with assault rifles.

Even if the team is too soft now, Larry saying it is broken clock.

It’s because for a lot of people this isn’t about the season being over, it’s potentially about this window being over.

If this is how this group responds to adversity, it’s just the latest in a list of growing evidence that we have a core built of players who are better suited to be earning their dollars on bottom third league teams like Ryan Strome is, not the kind of guys who bring a dynasty to a franchise like Toews is.

I just haven’t seen enough consistent leadership and performance from our top players.

Team is far beyond soft: no f***ing fundamentals with regards to any facet of the game currently.

And remind me when did the locker room have a mutiny through intense moping like these kumquats are currently doing?

People posting the same Brooks take over and over again like it's a big gotcha.

Larry would look at the Stasi and be like "I think they're a bit too sensitive."

All he did was complain about the 2012 team and he hated Tortorella.

The team is hilariously soft dude. They dont finish checks, they dont block shots, they dont get pucks deep. Afraid to give and take hits. Shy away from after the whistle stuff. Dont back up their teammates. The list goes on.

Did you hear the crowd last night? Not a peep. And its not because of corporate suits. Last night was Garden of Dreams night and the crowd wasnt given a single reason to stand and cheer. Say what you want about Rempe, and im not saying he should be in the lineup, but the crowd is engaged and the team is engaged when he is in the lineup. The same logic can be applied to the Trouba hits and fights that get the team going. You can't explain the emotional component away on a chart.

They always lacked fundamentals. The roster just isn't good. I'm so tired of saying it.

There hasn't been any concrete evidence of locker room drama beyond "players are upset." That means literally nothing. They've lost 6 of 7 and people get upset every day.

JD and Gorton got fired in a big public spat. We had one of our defensemen fight one of our goalies. If they had something real to tell us, they would.
