hear ye hear ye, i've come to offer a mea culpa
i was just searching through posts of mine from the spring to see if i had actually suggested a contract that I thought made sense for Kakko at that time, and found (among posts by a lot of you skewering him as a useless valueless finnish dustbin) a particularly savage roast of
@bernmeister's insistence that Kakko and Cuylle had chemistry so great so as to be prized above all other roster building considerations
while i can no longer see his posts because i blocked him because i actually can't stand the way he abbreviates player names, i s
hould mention that, while maybe not quite as important as he was expressing, 24 and 50 do indeed play very well off of each other. You were spot on with that one bern. carry on
note below...
So many things to not be able to stand about him and you blocked him over abbreviations?
sez you

On this thanksgiving eve, I give thanks not for the turkeys -- you know who you are -- but to the majority of our community here at hfb
@bernmeister lowkey picks up on a lot of things people miss, if you actually read the content of his posts. I get a lot of his trades seem outlandish, but I've found the unique posters on here actually offer the most insight and perspective. There's about 5,000 people posting the same things over and over, and only a few who post unique points of view. Of course you wont agree with it all, but at least its interesting, if not insightful.
I appreciate that you (and others) appreciate the effort
and more importantly, the commitment to excellence in pursuit of the truth:
will you try to change things
with the power that you have
the power of a million new ideas
Ehhhhh. I mean, there IS a unique perspective to some of it, I'll give you that. But, and it's a big but, there's the truly outlandish stuff that's off putting. Rempe on line 1. Garand an NHL starter. Robertson as a top 6 D. Christensen as a first line center. And on and on and on. He's sometimes entertaining to read but there's a lot of realism that's missing.
I stand by whatev I said but CONTEXT man, CONTEXT
Garand, wait and I see, I will again be proven right he eventually is our starter if not traded/career injured
The others, these are in context of other variables at the time, and they were or are acceptable given that
Robertson is a good example
the kid is crushed
they refuse to give him chance -> no development -> no growing pains =
we are stuck w/what we have
bern was right, we should not have self rented Lindgren, recently as 2-ish yrs ago he could have gotten a 20-ish OA [at best]. Now? bupkis.
But yes, you have to bend, buckle and break and take the medicine, endure the growing pains to have Robertson be whatev he could evolve into -- even if that is disappointing and he is only a stopgap.
Either way, I was right, we should have moved Lindgren when he had value.
@bernmeister is a national treasure do not slander his name
Thank you,
I am comforted that the more they try, the more they lose stature with the silent majority such as yourself.
No, let us not forget that IF Rs did EXACTLY as I suggested that might have worked out before Boo got concussed repeatedly.
Since you deserve it, here's a bern, just for you:
the more you rant, the more you rave, makes you sound less like a king, and more like a knave
