I'm OK with Knight if we have 3 picks in the 1st and take him with the last one.

I'll straight up throw you, JG, Gordie Clark, Nik Bovrov, Benoit Allaire and Joe Michelleti off the chase bridge if they end up with a mid 1st and take him.

Taking a goalie before the 4th round is a complete waste of a potential asset.

He's entering his prime as a power forward. Depends on this season and how he finishes. 5 yrs (bring him to 32?) x 6-7M could be fair.

8 games in, on pace for a 40goal season and he hasn't 'played his game' yet.

The cap is changing. The cap will increase even more with the Seattle expansion AND the new TV deal ( which should be exponentially larger than the NBC deal )

Yeah, no problem with a 5 year contract of 7 million. It is when he starts to want 7 or 8 year it scares me. If he wont budge on that I guess the management has to trade him. If this rebuildt is done properly I hope we have the time the ELC's start ticking for 2017 draftees to the end of their second contract (if the get a long 2. contract) to compete. Having a worn down 34 year old Kreider on a 7 mill caphit is something I dont want to be anchored to whne the new core is 25-28 year old and aims to win a cup.

We are talking about shooting the puck instead of passing too often. But thanks for trying to keep up

Well all this passing has obviously been a success, as he keeps picking up points. But he doesn't want to shoot if he can pass, how do you change that?

It doesn't work to tell him, he just gets irritated if you try to change his game, kinda stubborn as he is.

Yeah, our PP has been such a success

Names and Spooner are just road blocks for the guys like Andersson who should be up playing. Lettieri gives you the same hustle game as Names and Spooner is a ghost most of the time. I'd rather see Lias at 10-12 mins a game at this point. Give him Fast and Lettieri on the wings and let them be a energy 4th line.

They should give Namestnikov a chance with decent players instead of plugs he's been with.
I'll take it, in the hopes he builds some trade value.

I still want to see a Chytil-Howden-Buch line. If giving them both a shot to build value, put Spooner and Names with Hayes and hope something clicks with them and then Vesey Lettieri Fast for the defenisive energy 4th line.

Staal's numbers away from Pionk so far this season are downright impressive. The same cannot be the same for the opposite.

But the usage has mostly followed Pionk and not Staal/Skjei — right?

It’s whomever Pionk plays with that is put up against Johnny Hockey and the likes. So in that context — if our unit that plays the top unit of the other team does a worse job than league average does against the top line — it is that that shows in the numbers.

Maybe he should stop trying the same thing over and over again without success

Zuccarello on the PP actually shoots and look what happens

Pionk’s production early this year looks so much like Shatty’s production early last season.

I mean it can be argued its hard to standout when you have a guy on your line who never possesses the puck. Who is getting Nams the puck or helping his line keep possession. And you cant say something like ‘well he needs to go get the puck then or find a way to standout’ because thats just not reasonable. Namestnikov isnt some superstar so expecting him to put the line on his back to show he belongs on the top 3 lines isnt fair. He is a complimentary player with no one to compliment.
